Nuestra Ofrenda A Dios.

Durante la Misa, las ofrendas son presentadas por miembros de la comunidad, quienes llevan al altar el pan, vino y la colecta de las ofrendas personales de los fieles. Todos estos son regalos que nosotros damos a Dios como en
repuesta a todos los regalos que El nos da. Las ofrendas de pan y vino nos representan a todos nosotros y serán transformados en el Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo o, presencia real, y en su Alma y Divinidad.

Debemos de mantener en mente que la colecta es un acto de amor y gratitud a Dios Nuestro Padre, y basados en esta realidad consideremos la importancia del diezmo, o sea el diez por ciento de nuestros ingresos como ofrenda a Dios el Señor.

El concepto de dar a Dios las primicias de los frutos de nuestro trabajo, se remonta al comienzo de la creación cuando Caín y Abel, hacían ofrendas al Señor, a como leemos en ‘Génesis 4:3’, donde podemos leer que los dos ellos ofrecían sus primicias a Dios, sin embargo se nos dice que a Dios le agradaban mucho las ofrendas de Abel, mas no así las de Caín. Pero porqué no? Esto nos enseña que cuando ofreceamos algo a Dios, debemos de hacerlo basados en el amor y por nuestra propia voluntad, y no porque así nos lo indique una ley; además que a Dios le debemos ofrecer lo mejor y no desechos o algo que nos sobra y lo cual íbamos a tirar al basurero, tampoco debemos de murmurar o renegar al hacer nuestras ofrendas.

La idea del 10% se nos presenta primero en (Génesis 14:18) Y Melquisedec, rey de Salem, que era sacerdote de Dios, el Altísimo, hizo traer pan y vino, y bendijo a Abraham, diciendo:
"¡Bendito sea Abraham de parte de Dios, el Altísimo, creador del cielo y de la tierra! ¡Bendito sea Dios, el Altísimo, que entregó a tus enemigos en tus manos!". Y Abraham le dio el diezmo de todo.

Después, el diezmo (10%) se establece como ley en (Levíticos 27:30) La décima parte de lo que produce la tierra –tanto los campos sembrados como los árboles frutales pertenece al Señor: es una cosa consagrada al Señor.
Una tremenda gracia de sanación es generada por medio de nuestras donaciones. (Malaquías 3:10) Lleven el diezmo íntegro a la casa del Tesoro, para que haya alimento en mi Casa. Sométanme a esta prueba, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, y verán si no les abro las compuertas del cielo y derramo para ustedes la bendición en abundancia. Yo les espantaré la langosta, para que no destruya los frutos de la tierra y la viña no les quede estéril en el campo, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.

At the presentation of the gifts during Mass, representatives of the lay community bring up the bread, wine and offerings to the altar. They are all our gifts given back to God. The gifts of bread and wine, representing all of us, will be transformed into the real presence of Jesus Christ as His Body and Blood, soul and divinity.

We must realize that the collection is an act of love and gratitude, and base on this realization, consider the importance of tithing, which means given 10% of our income as an offering to God.

The idea of given back to God part of the fruit of our labor, goes back to the beginning of creation when both Abel and Cain made offerings to God; we read in Genesis 4:3 that both of them made offerings to the Lord, but, the Lord gladly accepted the offerings of Abel but not the ones from Cain; what was the reason for such a difference? It means that, when we make our offerings to God, it should be done with love and willingly, we should offer Him only our best and not what is defective, we should not complain about why we have to offer anything, and we should not do anything just to comply with a law, but, because it comes from our heart.

The 10% idea, appears first in (Genesis 14:18) Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine, and being a priest of God Most High, he blessed Abram with these words: Blessed be Abram by God Most High, the creator of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your foes into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.


The 10% was established as a law in (Leviticus 27:30) "All tithes of the land, whether in grain from the fields or in fruit from the trees, belong to the LORD, as sacred to him.” A tremendous healing grace is released through giving. “ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My House, and try me (put me to the test) in this, says the Lord of Hosts: Shall I not open for you the floodgates of heaven, to pour down blessing upon you without measure? For your sake I will forbid the locust to destroy your crops; and the vine in the field should not be barren, says the Lord of hosts”( Malachi 3:10)


Muchos de nosotros gastamos nuestro dinero rentando videos y juegos computarizados, o compramos licor y cigarrillos, sin siquiera quejarnos por los altos precios que pagamos; algunos otros compran revistas pornográficas o de chismes, y a veces esas revistas caen en manos de los niños o jóvenes, corrompiendo así las mentes jóvenes; pero cuando en la Iglesia se nos pide una donación, ahí sí nos ponemos a protestar y a lloriquear porque la Iglesia siempre quiere dinero, (recuerdan a Caín y Abel?) pero cuando nos va mal, o nos metemos en problemas, nos preguntamos de que porqué le pasan cosas malas a gente tan buena como nosotros.

(Eclesiástico 3:30) El agua apaga las llamas del fuego y la limosna expía los pecados. El que hace favores sera recordádo después,y cuando esté por caer, encontrará un apoyo.


Nuestra ofrendas a Dios siempre se tienen que hacer en un espíritu de agradecimiento o acción de gracias, y el Señor nuestro Dios nos bendecirá con buena salud, un buen trabajo o fuente de ingresos, nuestros hijos serán buenos estudiantes y tendrán espíritu de superación para triunfar en la vida, nuestro matrimonio será estable, tranquilo y próspero; y si llegase la calamidad, podremos sobrevivirla y tendremos trabajo para recuperar nuestra prosperidad.

Tengamos en cuenta que el dar ofrendas es también parte de nuestro culto a Dios, en la Misa no sólo participamos escuchando la Palabra de Dios, también lo hacemos en nuestro dar, con lo cual afirmamos que reconocemos nuestra dependencia de Dios en todo. Con nuestra ofrenda decimos, ‘Señor, tu eres lo mas importante y primero; todo te pertenece a ti’ Tu nos has dado todo y a ti debe regresar. Dame Señor solamente tu amor y tu gracia, que para mi eso es suficiente.

Cuando el sacerdote agrega agua al vino consagrado, representa la disolución de la congregación en Cristo, así como el agua se disuelve (mezcla) con el vino, nosotros también nos disolvemos en Cristo Jesús. Ofrecemos a Dios todo lo que somos—nuestra mente, nuestra alma y nuestro cuerpo. Debemos de ofrecer a Dios todo lo que poseemos, incluyendo a nuestra familia y nuestro matrimonio.

Many of us spend a lot of money renting video games and movies, or we buy liquor and cigarettes without complaining about the high price we pay for it; others buy pornographic or gossip magazines, and many times we are not careful in keeping the children and minors away from such trash; but when it comes to given money to the church, we raise hell and start moaning and whining (remember Cain and Abel?), then when things go wrong, we wonder why, bad things happen to good people like us.

(Sirach 3:29)Water quenches a flaming fire, and alms atone for sins. He who does a kindness is remembered afterward; when he falls, he finds a support.


Our offerings to God should always be done in a spirit of thanksgiving, and God almighty will bless us with good health, a good job or source of income, our children will be good students and have a big desire to achieve success in life, our marriages will be stable, peaceful and prosperous and when calamity comes, we will be able to survive and work back to a comfort living.

Let’s remember that giving tithes is part of our worship, we not only participate in Mass listening to the Word of God but, in our giving we acknowledge our dependence upon God for everything. In our giving we say, “Lord, I put you first. Lord, all is yours.” You have given all to me, now I return it to you. Give me only your love and your grace. That’s enough for me, God.

When the priest puts a little water in the wine after consecration, it represents the melting of the congregation into Jesus Christ. As the water disappears into the wine, we blend into Christ Jesus. We offer all that we are—mind, soul and body. We should offer all that we posses, including our family, health and marriage.

Veamos ahora, dos de los ejemplos que nos presentó nuestro Señor, (Lucas 21:1) Alzando la mirada, vio a unos ricos que echaban sus donativos en el arca del Tesoro; vio también a una viuda pobre que echaba allí dos moneditas, y dijo: "De verdad os digo que esta viuda pobre ha echado más que todos. Porque todos éstos han echado como donativo de lo que les sobraba, ésta en cambio ha echado de lo que necesitaba, todo cuanto tenía para vivir."

(Marcos 10:17) Cuando se puso en camino, un hombre corrió hacia él y, arrodillándose, le preguntó: "Maestro bueno, ¿qué debo hacer para heredar la Vida eterna?". Jesús le dijo: "¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Sólo Dios es bueno. Tú conoces los mandamientos: No matarás, no cometerás adulterio, no robarás, no darás falso testimonio, no perjudicarás a nadie, honra a tu padre y a tu madre". El hombre le respondió: "Maestro, todo eso lo he cumplido desde mi juventud".

Jesús lo miró con amor y le dijo: "Sólo te falta una cosa: ve, vende lo que tienes y dalo a los pobres; así tendrás un tesoro en el cielo. Después, ven y sígueme". El, al oír estas palabras, se entristeció y se fue apenado, porque poseía muchos bienes.

Primero, la viuda dio todo lo que tenia, mientra que los ricos solo depositaron lo que les sobraba de dinero (probablemente las monedas y no los billetes) en sus bolsillos, ella no anduvo haciendo cálculos de que cuanto era el diezmo (10%) de lo que tenia, sino que depositó todo al Señor, movida por su amor a Dios, así como una buena madre ama a sus hijos, los cuida y les sirve toda la vida sin andar pensando que algún día les pasara la cuenta por el amor que les ha dado, no, una buena madre ama sin condición, y sin esperar nada a cambio.

El joven rico en cambio estaba actuando como los otros ricos, quienes daban sólo lo necesario o lo dictado por la ley, y ni siquiera un centavo mas; pero Jesús le dice al joven que venda todo y se lo de a los pobres. Es que quiere Jesús que todos seamos pobres?

Absolutamente no! Si queremos llegar al cielo debemos de comenzar a depositar desde ahora en nuestra cuenta celestial desde aquí en la tierra, no solamente dando pequeñas sumas de dinero, pero cooperando en todo lo que podamos en la comunidad, o sea amando al prójimo, tal a como Cristo nuestro Señor nos lo recomendó, no sólo cooperando con plata, pero mas que nada reflejando la personalidad de Cristo en nosotros. El joven rico demostró falta de amor a su prójimo y estaba interesado sólo en su salvación, pero tu y yo debemos de orar por todos nuestros hermanos, y trabajar duro en lo que podamos para que todos se salven, especialmente los mas cercanos a nosotros a como son nuestra esposa, hijos, parientes y vecinos.

(Proverbios 11:24)Uno da generosamente y acrecienta su haber, otro ahorra más de la cuenta y acaba en la indigencia.
El hombre generoso prosperará, y al que da de beber le saciarán la sed.

Los religiosos (sacerdotes y monjas) tienen que hacer un voto de pobreza, castidad y obediencia que los consagra al servicio de Dios; pero nosotros los laicos, podemos tener plata, es decir debemos de aspirar a una vida próspera siempre y cuando no sucumbamos a adorar al dios Mammon (poderoso caballero Don Dinero), y siempre adoremos al único y verdadero Dios. (1 Timoteo 6:10) Porque la raíz de todos los males es el amor al dinero, y algunos, por dejarse llevar de él, se extraviaron en la fe y se atormentaron con muchos dolores.

Now let’s look a two examples that our Lord gave us, (Luke 21:1) When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, "I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."

(Mark 10: 17) As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments: 'You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not defraud; honor your father and your mother.'"

He replied and said to him, "Teacher, all of these I have observed from my youth.” Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, "You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to (the) poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
At that statement his face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.

First, the poor widow gave everything she had, and the wealthy, only deposit the change in their pockets, she didn’t make any calculations about how much 10% of her money was, she just gave her whole livelihood to God out of the goodness of her heart, the same way a good mother loves her children, never thinking that some day she will ask them back some payment for some of her love; no, a good mother just love without asking nothing in return, that is real love.

The young rich man was acting like any of the other wealthy folks, they wanted to give just enough, or what the law demanded from them, but not a penny more; but, Jesus told the young rich man to sell everything and give it to the poor. Does He wants us to be poor?

Absolutely not! If we want to go to heaven, we should start depositing in our heavenly account right here on earth, by not just giving a little amount of money, but, by giving as much as we can, in other words, by loving our neighbor, as Christ has recommended us to do, not just with some money, but, by reflecting the personality of Jesus in us. The rich young man demonstrated a lack of love for his neighbor and was only interested in his salvation, but you and I should also pray and work hard for the salvation of our brothers and sisters specially those closer to us, like your wife, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters.

(Proverbs 11:24) One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

The religious (priests and nuns) are asked to make vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience to keep them sacred to the service of God; but we the lay people, are not prohibited from being prosperous, as long as we do not succumb to worship the ‘god Mammon’, instead of the only true God, our heavenly Father (1Timothy 6:10) For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.

O sea, que si existe algo que tu no puedes entregar totalmente a Dios, entonces tu no posees ese algo, sino que ese algo te posee a vos. Todos tenemos algo que no podemos abandonar o donar fácilmente, es mas, nos es imposible deshacernos de ello. Pidámosle a Dios su gracia (El Espíritu Santo), para que nos despojemos de eso que nos posee, y si El quiere regresárnoslo, pues que sea haga su voluntad.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas, yo los reto a que den a la Iglesia lo mas que puedan, y les garantizo que Dios los llenará de bendiciones y les regresará, o duplicará cualquier donación que ustedes hagan, recuerden sin embargo, que a Dios debemos de darle todo, por amor y con la convicción de que somos hijos de Dios, y que es El quien nos ha proveído con todo lo que poseemos, El nos ha dado la tierra con todas sus riquezas, para que trabajando honradamente vivamos como miembros de la Realeza Celestial, debemos sin embargo recordar que somos guarda de nuestros hermanos, y administradores de la tierra, y no explotadores y destructores del medioambiente.

In other words, if there is anything you can not surrender to the Lord, then you do not possess it; it possesses you. All of us have something that we find difficult or impossible to give. Let us ask the Lord for His grace to give it to Him so He can bless it and then give it back to us, if He wants to do so.

Please, brothers and sisters, I challenge you to give as much as you can to the church and I guarantee you that the blessings of the Almighty God will pour on you; remember to give out of love and conviction, knowing that you are a child of God and that He has provided us with the whole earth with all its riches, so we can live as members of the heavenly Royal Family; but, never forgetting that we are keepers of our brothers and stewards of the creation, and not just exploiters and spoilers of the earth.
