El comienzo del año es tiempo para planear el presupuesto que se requiere para poder realizar los programas de la parroquia.
(Lucas 14:28) "Porque ¿quién de vosotros, que quiere edificar una torre, no se sienta primero a calcular los gastos, y ver si tiene para acabarla?”
Desde el comienzo de la creación, Dios Padre primero crea la luz, necesaria para poder ver por donde vamos, y hacia donde nos dirigimos; el conocimiento es luz, y la ignorancia es similar a las tinieblas, es por eso que antes de comenzar cualquier empresa, debemos de sentarnos a planear con que recursos contamos, que forma de acción nos ayudará a completar nuestros sueños, qué sistema de evaluación utilizaremos para monitorear nuestro progreso, y cual es la meta final de nuestro proyecto.
El Señor nos recuerda en el versículo anterior, que debemos de ser buenos administradores, y en el párrafo siguiente hemos descrito la labor o el trabajo de un buen administrador o “manager”, siendo esta descripción buena para cualquier trabajo que nos propongamos, incluyendo las labores eclesiásticas.
Generalmente la jerarquía se encarga de todo lo relacionado con el funcionamiento ejecutivo, evangelizador y financiero de cada diósesis, e informa a los fieles cuánto dinero se necesita para financiar las funciones o programas del año; nosotros como fieles, tenemos la responsabilidad de proveer el dinero necesario, por medio de nuestras ofrendas, para que la misión de la Iglesia se lleve a cabo y la evangelización continúe llegando al pueblo de Dios.
(Génesis 1:27) Y Dios creó al hombre a su imagen; lo creó a imagen de Dios, los creó varón y mujer. Y los bendijo, diciéndoles: "Sean fecundos, multiplíquense, llenen la tierra y sométanla; dominen a los peces del mar, a las aves del cielo y a todos los vivientes que se mueven sobre la tierra".
(Mateo 16:18) Y yo te digo: Tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia, y el poder del averno no prevalecerá contra ella. Yo te daré las llaves del Reino de los Cielos. Todo lo que ates en la tierra, quedará atado en el cielo, y todo lo que desates en la tierra, quedará desatado en el cielo". Entonces ordenó severamente a sus discípulos que no dijeran a nadie que él era el Mesías.
En estos dos versículos vemos como Dios establece al hombre como el administrador no sólo de la tierra, sino que también de su obra salvífica; pues en (Génesis 1:27) la frase: “llenen la tierra y sometanla”, no es necesariamente la mejor traducción al texto original, pues, en Hebreo la misma palabra significa, “adminístrenla”, que es la forma correcta en el contexto actual.
Después en (Mateo 16:18) al darle las llaves del Reino a Pedro, el Señor lo designa su jefe y representante con todo el poder y autoridad para regir y administrar la Iglesia aquí en la tierra.
Sin embargo, debemos de tener en mente, que todos los humanos somos administradores de los bienes que Dios nos ha encomendado, que incluye ademas de la naturaleza, nuestros dones o virtudes, nuestra vida y nuestro dinero, mejor dicho, el dinero del Señor.
(Ageo 2:7) Haré estremecer a todas las naciones: entonces afluirán los tesoros de todas las naciones y llenaré de gloria esta Casa, dice el Señor de los ejércitos. 8_ ¡Son míos el oro y la plata! –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–
Nadie puede crear nada, sólo Dios es el que verdaderamente ha creado el cielo y la tierra con todos sus tesoros y yacimientos de minerales, piedras preciosas, petroleo, el agua que tan vital es para nuestra existencia, el aire que respiramos y el suelo fértil del cual brotan toda clase de plantas y árboles que nos proveen con alimento y material para nuestro albergue; el hombre, por medio del uso del racionamiento que Dios le ha proveído, utiliza la ciencia, el conocimiento y todos los materiales para desarrollar industrias y producir trabajo, bienes y maquinarias para hacer la vida mas confortable y agradable en nuestras ciudades.
Nosotros simplemente transformamos la materia prima que Dios nos ha proveído, similar al principio de la Física que dice: “la energía no se crea ni se destruye, solamente se transforma.” Hoy en día existe una crisis mundial creada por las grandes corporaciones y los bancos que son manejados por hombres inescrupulosos, avariciosos, sin temor a Dios y sin conciencia.
Acaso creen uds. que de la noche a la mañana se han desaparecido del mundo, varios cuatrillones (1 seguido de 24 ceros) de dólares? Pamplinas!
Hoy en día existe la misma cantidad de oro y plata que siempre ha existido, sin embargo los “avaros” acumulan las riquezas para ellos nada mas, y que al resto, pues que se lo lleve la trampa; y porque todo este descalabro? Pues porque nos hemos olvidado de Dios, nos hemos olvidado de sus mandatos y mandamientos; no sólo los grandes “lagartos” (magnates), sino que tristemente también nosotros los “lagartijas” (trabajadores),hemos endurecido nuestro corazón a la palabra del Señor.
El oro y la plata de la tierra pertenecen a Dios nada mas, al igual que el aire que respiramos, no es nuestro, sino que se nos provee para nuestra existencia; pero desde que nos olvidamos de los dos primeros mandamientos, comenzamos a descender en el caos y la pobreza.
Muchas personas dicen: si me saco la lotería, donaré a la Iglesia para que mejoren el edificio y hagan mas misiones. Tonterías! Dios quiere que contribuyamos con su obra todos y cada uno de nosotros sin importar tu actual situación económica, o es que no puedes donar ni siquiera 5 pesos? O tu talento para catequizar a los niños? Si tocas un instrumento musical, no puedes ser parte del coro? O si tienes buena voz para cantar? Si sabes contabilidad, no puedes donar un poco de tu tiempo y talento para llevar los libros de la parroquia?
Creen uds. que los únicos que pueden donar plata a la Iglesia de Dios son los multimillonarios? (Malaquias 3:6) Porque yo, el Señor, no he cambiado, ¡pero ustedes no dejan de ser hijos de Jacob! 7_ Desde la época de sus padres, ustedes se apartan de mis preceptos y no los observan. ¡Vuelvan a mí y yo me volveré a ustedes!, dice el Señor de los ejércitos. Ustedes dicen: "¿Cómo volveremos?".
Cómo somos “hijos de Jacob?” Bueno, esto suena como a un verbo (insulto), pero, lo que quiere decir es que al igual que Jacob, nos hemos dedicado sólo a hacer trampas los unos contra los otros y, hasta contra el Señor.
8_ ¿Puede un hombre defraudar (robarle) a Dios? ¡Sin embargo, ustedes me defraudan a mí!
Ustedes dicen: "¿En qué te hemos defraudado?". En el diezmo y en los tributos.
Muchos de uds. que viven allá por el norte, siempre preguntan que si se debe dar el 10% de lo bruto o lo neto, o sea después que el estado te ha deducido los impuestos o antes? El 10% no es ley, a menos que seas evangélico (protestante es la misma cosa, y si no, haceme un comentario), nadie conoce mejor eso del 10% que los fariseos, pero ellos lo arreglaron para dar sólo el diez por ciento de cosas pequeñas, y por cierto que es cuento para otro artículo del blog, y no ahora.
Si eres rico, pues da lo mas que puedas sin que te afecte tu estilo de vida, igual que hacemos cuando ocurre una desgracia, como cuando el tsunami, o ahora con nuestros hermanos de Haití; vemos como muchos ricos han donado millonadas de dólares, movidos por esa llamita de amor Cristiano que existe aun en el corazón mas fosilizado; si eres de clase media, sacrificate un poco y en vez de ir a ver jugar a los profesionales (beisbol, soccer, basketbol, futbol, boxeo, etc), ofrece el valor del ticket a tu Iglesia, y veras como Dios te lo regresa con creces.
(Malaquías 3:9) Sobre ustedes pesa una maldición, porque ustedes, la nación entera,me defraudan.
10_ Lleven el diezmo íntegro a la casa del Tesoro, para que haya alimento en mi Casa. Sométanme a esta prueba, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, y verán si no les abro las compuertas del cielo y derramo para ustedes la bendición en abundancia.
Si demostramos fidelidad a Dios, los avaros banqueros, de repente volverán a hacer prestamos a términos razonables, las compañías financieras, ofrecerán plata para comenzar negocios nuevos que proveerán trabajo a muchos desempleados, lloverá mucho y la sequía cesará; los agricultores tendrán muchos frijoles y arroz en sus campos, la comida abundará, habrá plátanos, aguacates, maíz, pipianes, chiltomas (green peppers), tomates, papas, lechuga, especias, sandias, melones, nísperos, zapotes, mangos, bananos, yuca, camotes, cebollas, leche, mantequilla y pan.
11_ Yo les espantaré la langosta, para que no destruya los frutos de la tierra y la viña no les quede estéril en el campo, dice el Señor de los ejércitos. 12_ Todas las naciones los proclamarán felices, porque ustedes serán una tierra de delicias, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
Será de nuevo como en los tiempos de nuestros abuelos, cuando Chontales producía mucha leche y buenos quesos; Chinandega nos daba muchas naranajas, guayabas, aguacates, algodón y buena carne de res; había muchos peces en el mar y los ríos. Todo lo que debemos hacer es, en vez de rendirle culto al “dios televisión” el cual es el altar de la sociedad moderna, privarnos de no tener servicio de cable por un mes, y darle ese dinero a la Iglesia del Dios Altísimo.
“Pónganme a prueba dice: el Señor.”
“Yo les espantaré la langosta, para que no destruya los frutos de la tierra y la viña no les quede estéril”. Es decir, que el Señor hará que los avaros, no se queden con nuestro dinero, que nuestra salud se mantenga bien, no trabajaremos en vano; si todos los Cristianos oramos de corazón a Dios el Señor, y le pedimos que bendiga aun a los que nos explotan, veremos la mano de Dios, intercediendo por nosotros, igual que lo hizo por los Israelitas en Egipto.
(2 Corintios 9:6) Mirad: el que siembra con mezquindad, cosechará también con mezquindad; el que siembra en abundancia, cosechará también en abundancia. 7_ Cada cual dé según el dictamen de su corazón, no de mala gana ni forzado, pues: Dios ama al que da con alegría.
San Pablo de nuevo nos recuerda que debemos de dar de acuerdo a como hemos recibido, y no basados en leyes de porcentajes; Dios entregó a su único hijo por nosotros, eso es algo que no tiene precio; no debemos nosotros también corresponder al Señor de igual manera? Les aseguro que si ofrecemos mas de lo que actualmente donamos a la iglesia, nunca tendremos escasez, y mas bien nos sobrará de mas para compartir con los que no tienen; es decir, que debemos de dar en espíritu de acción de gracia, por todo lo que nuestro Señor ha hecho por nosotros.
(Lucas 6:38) “Dad y se os dará; una medida buena, apretada, remecida, rebosante pondrán en el halda de vuestros vestidos. Porque con la medida con que midáis se os medirá."
Cierro este artículo con las palabras del Señor, medítenlas, y por favor aumenten sus ofrendas a la Iglesia hoy mismo, como administradores que somos, debemos de financiar muy bien la misión del Señor.

The beginning of the year is time for planning the programs and activities of the parish for the next season.
(Luke 14:28) "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
Right from the beginning, God the Father created light, which is necessary to see our path and where we are going to; knowledge is light and power, ignorance on the other hand is similar to darkness, and that's why before we start any endeavor, we must seat down to check our resources, the plan of action that we'll follow, the evaluation system that will help us monitor our progress, and what are we trying to accomplish.
Our Lord reminds us in the previous verse, that we should be good administrators (stewards), and we have described in the next one, the steps that will be taken by a good administrator or manager, regardless of what kind of project he/she is working on.
In general each parish has its own team, that handles all the executive activities, plus the evangelical and financial functions. Each church will inform its parishioners of how much money is needed to accomplish the functions for the new period, and it is our duty, to provide the parish with that money through our offerings, so the mission of the church continues, and the Word of God reaches more people throughout the world.
(Genesis 1:27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
(Matthew 16:18) And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
The two previous verses show us how God establishes man as the steward of the earth and His salvific mission; in (Genesis 1:27) the phrase “fill the earth and subdue it “ , is not necessarily the best translation, since in the original Hebrew, the same word “subdue” could be translated, “administer”, which is the right meaning for that paragraph.
Then in (Matt16:18), when He gives Peter the keys of the kingdom, he actually named the apostle his steward and representative, given Peter full power and authority to administer the church here on earth. What we should keep in mind is the fact that each one of us is a steward of all the goods that God has given us, including the creation, our talents, our life, and our money, or better yet, God's money.
(Haggai 2:7) I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty. 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty.
In reality, nobody can create anything, only God is the one that has created the heavens and the earth, with all its minerals, precious stones, oil, water that is so vital to our existence, the air that we breath, the fertile soil, from which sprout plants and trees that provide us with food; man through the use of science and his intelligence (God given) has utilized the materials provided by the Creator to develop industries that provide employment to many people, they invent machinery to help in the development of modern cities to make our life better and prosperous.
We only transform the raw material from the earth, God is the one who provided everything to us, it is something similar to the principle in Physics that says: “energy can not be created or destroy, it could only be transformed.” We are in the middle of an economic world crisis, created by the big corporations and the banks, whose managers a CEO's are a bunch of unscrupulous, greedy men without conscience and without the fear of God. I don't think anybody believes that many trillions of dollars, disappeared from the face of the earth, in just a couple of days, do you? Bologne!
The same amount of gold and silver exists today as at the beginning of the world, never the less “greedy” individuals have hoarded the riches of the earth only for themselves, without caring a bit a bout the rest of the people; but why all this mess? Because, we have forgotten God and His commandments; it's not only the big “sharks” (moguls) that have ignored God, but sadly,even us the little “sardines” (workers).
All the gold and silver of the world belong to God, same as the air we breathe, it is given to us for our existence and convenience; the moment we forget the first two commandments of the law of God, we start descending into poverty and chaos.
Some people say that if they win the lottery, they would donate a handsome sum of money to the church, well, maybe. God actually expects us to contribute with his church regardless of our economical status, or is it hard to offer, even a few dollars a week? Or maybe donate some of your talent to catechize the children? If you play a musical instrument, couldn't you join the choir? If you have a good voice, couldn't you maybe sing? Or if you are an accountant, couldn't you help with the books in the parish?
Do you believe, that only the rich people should donate money to the church?
(Malachi 3:6) "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty. "But you ask, 'How are we to return?'
We are descendants of Jacob, in the way we keep cheating on each other, and even on the Lord.
(Malachi 3:8) "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.”
Some of you who live in USA, ask the question: should we give the 10% of the gross or the net pay? Well, the 10% is not a law for the Christian Catholics, only if you belong to an evangelical church, that tells you it's their law; nobody got the 10% to a science like the pharisees, they managed to reduce it to only the small things, but, that is a story for the next time.
If you are rich, give as much as you can without affecting your way of life, is similar to when a terrible tragedy happens, like the tsunami or the earthquake in Haiti; we can see how many rich people have donated millions of dollars, maybe moved by the Christian love that resides even in the hardest hearts; if you are a middle class individual, why not donate the price of the ticket to your favorite professional sport to the church? If you do that, God will reward you big time, guaranteed.
(Malachi 3:9) You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
If we show fidelity to God, the greedy bankers will, all of a sudden start lending money at a good rate, the financial institutions will provide money for start up businesses, which will provide employment to thousand of people, it will rain plenty, there will be no drought and the farmers will produce plenty of food.
(Malachi 3:11) I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.
Our land will produce in abundance. Instead of seating in front of the god TV, which seems to be the altar of modern society, we should sacrifice not having cable service for a month and donate that money to your local church. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "
I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,"
God will help us, so the greedy businessmen won't withhold our money, and pay us a fair salary; we'll stay healthy, we won't work in vain, but, we should pray in earnest to God with a contrite heart, and we should even pray for the ones that rob us; God for sure will intercede for us the same way He did for the Israelites in Egypt.
(2 Corinthians 9:6) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
St Paul reminds us that, we should give according to how we have received and not based on percentage laws; God gave his only son for us, that is something priceless, shouldn't we respond to our Lord in kind? I assure you that, if we donate to the church much more than we actually offer, we'll never lack of anything, we should have abundance, even to give to other people less fortunate than us; we should give in a spirit of thanks giving, for the love God has for us.
(Luke 6:38) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
I close this article, with the words of our Lord in (Luke6:38); please ponder them and please starting today increase your offerings to the church , we are the stewards of God and we should finance the mission of God on earth, the best way possible.
