Canten al Señor un Cántico Nuevo

Que Dios Todopoderoso los bendiga, los proteja y los guíe en el Nuevo Año 2010.

(Nota: Los invito a leer la serie "El Bautismo", que aparece en la lista de artículos a la izquierda, especialmente si pronto van a bautizar a uno de sus niños.)

Debemos de empezar el nuevo año cantándole al Señor con alegría, esperanza y fe; es por eso que escogí la canción del grupo Español Mocedades: "Eres Tu"; como una tonada de amor dedicada a Nuestro Dios Padre, Redentor y Paráclito.

Esta canción me parece apropiada, espero la disfruten a como yo la he disfrutado. Le pido al autor de la canción permiso para presentárselas, los arreglos bíblicos, pues son del Espíritu, y para eso ya el permiso está concedido.

Como una promesa eres tú, eres tú.
(1 Timoteo 1:1) Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús, por mandato de Dios nuestro Salvador y de Cristo Jesús, en quien reside la promesa de vida eterna.

May God almighty bless you in this new year 2010, and during all your life. I think you would agree with me, that, we should start the year with joy, hope and faith; blessing God the Father, our Redeemer and Paraclete, with hymns and songs of gladness and thanksgiving; for that reason, I chose the song “ Eres Tu” (What you are to me) of the Spanish group, Mocedades, as a present or serenade to our God and Father.

(Mateo 2:6) Belén, tierra de Judá,
ciertamente no eres la menor
entre las principales ciudades de Judá,
porque de ti surgirá un jefe
que será el Pastor de mi pueblo, Israel".

En tiempos antiguos la fecha del nacimiento de una persona, no era tan importante a como lo es para nosotros ahora en nuestra época, sin embargo, se daban pistas de mas o menos cuándo fue el nacimiento de algunos personajes importantes; la Iglesia ademas, por medio de cálculos astronómicos, y que por cierto no tiene nada que ver con lo que hoy comúnmente se llama “astrología” (horóscopo), sino que nos referimos a la ciencia que estudia los astros en sus movimientos por el universo (espacio), determinó que oficialmente se celebraría el nacimiento de Cristo, el 25 de Diciembre, por coincidir con el solsticio de invierno en el hemisferio norte, cuando los días comienzan a ser mas largos, es decir que la luz se hace mas grande que las tinieblas, recordemos que Jesús es :“la Luz del mundo”.

(Mateo 2:1) Cuando nació Jesús, en Belén de Judea, bajo el reinado de Herodes, unos magos (astrólogos) de Oriente se presentaron en Jerusalén 2_ y preguntaron: "¿Dónde está el rey de los judíos que acaba de nacer? Porque vimos su estrella en Oriente y hemos venido a adorarlo".

A como dice el refrán, “al entendido, por señas” ; estos 'magos' no necesitaron de un “Gps”(aparato de posición global por satélite) que les diera las coordenadas exactas de dónde estaba la casa de José y María; sino que fueron siguiendo sus cálculos astrológicos y la dirección del Espíritu Santo, llegaron así, al lugar exacto donde estaba el niño Jesús, o el Niño Dios, a como le decimos en Nicaragua.

Algunos “expertos” dicen que el “pesebre” no era una casita de madera, sino que era una cueva en una roca; la verdad es que si era una “casita” o una cueva no importa, lo importante es su función de pesebre, que es un lugar donde se tienen los animales como, cabritos, ovejas, burros y a lo mejor gallinas; es tan insignificante la clase de estructura del pesebre, que ninguno de los evangelistas lo menciona.

(Mateo 2:10) Cuando vieron la estrella se llenaron de
alegría, 11_ y al entrar en la casa, encontraron al niño con María, su madre, y postrándose, le rindieron homenaje. Luego, abriendo sus cofres, le ofrecieron dones: oro, incienso y mirra. 12_ Y como recibieron en sueños la advertencia de no regresar al palacio de Herodes, volvieron a su tierra por otro camino.

Desde su nacimiento, Jesús ha sido perseguido, hoy ya no lo persigue Herodes y los fanáticos religiosos que lo llevaron a la cruz; hoy es perseguido por los los fanáticos materialistas que odian las imágenes religiosas Católicas, pero que despliegan en su pecho con orgullo la imagen de tipejos como el Che Guevara, de políticos, de cantantes populares, de atletas profesionales y de otros ídolos que ellos mismo se han fabricado.

Jesús es perseguido por los que pregonan el laicismo, la tolerancia, la inclusión de 'política correcta' y muchos otros que creen saber lo que es mejor para las 'masas'. En muchos países que se denominan civilizados y que pregonan 'libertad de expresión' para todos; se resiste el mencionar la frase : “Feliz Navidad”, el despliegue de “nacimientos navideños” y los símbolos Cristianos; en esos países en Navidad sólo se permite decir: Felices Fiestas, o Feliz estación del año. Es eso tolerancia? O libertad de expresión?

(Isaias 9:5) Porque una criatura nos ha nacido, un hijo se nos ha dado. Estará el señorío sobre su hombro, y se llamará su nombre "Consejero Maravilloso", "Dios Poderoso", "Padre Eterno", "Príncipe de Paz".
6_ Grande es su señorío y la paz no tendrá fin sobre el trono de David y sobre su reino, para restaurarlo y consolidarlo por la equidad y la justicia,Desde ahora y hasta siempre, el celo de Yahveh Sebaot (el Dios de los ejércitos) hará eso.

Alegrémonos, Dios a venido a estar con nosotros (Emanuel), y se presenta como un dulce y vulnerable niñito que necesita de la protección de su madre y de un padre virtuoso. Con su forma de presentarse, Jesús, eleva la dignidad de los bebes, y no enseña que es nuestra responsabilidad, el proteger a los inocentes y mas vulnerables de la comunidad.

San José , representa al padre cabeza de familia que trabaja y provee a su familia, con su labor honrada y su conducta de hombre decente, respetable, amante de Dios y responsable miembro de la sociedad. A pesar que el arcángel Gabriél identifica al niño, como el “Hijo del Altísimo”, José y María no se aprovechan del privilegio de tener con ellos a Jesús el Señor; tampoco exigen trato preferencial, sino mas bien que se responsabilizan de su misión, y laboran con humildad y ahínco.

El Católico debe de saber que su bienestar no depende del estado (gobierno), sino de su trabajo honrado, de su educación (preparación académica o escuela técnica), de su fe y la bendición de Dios, y del apoyo de su familia. Debemos cuidarnos de los gobiernos que quieren esclavizar al individuo por medio de limosna estatal, los que quieren convertir a los ciudadanos en adictos a dádivas publicas, y a depender del gobierno como solución a sus problemas; tengamos cuidado pues,bajo esos gobiernos las personas pierden su espíritu como hijos de Dios, su orgullo, su libertad, y se vuelven objetos de los caprichos de los gobernantes.

(Lucas 2:8) Había en la misma comarca unos pastores, que dormían al raso y vigilaban por turno durante la noche su rebaño.
9_ Se les presentó el Ángel del Señor, y la gloria del Señor los envolvió en su luz; y se llenaron de temor. 10_ El ángel les dijo: "No temáis, pues os anuncio una gran alegría, que lo será para todo el pueblo: 11_ os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un salvador, que es Cristo el Señor;
12_ y esto os servirá de señal: encontraréis un niño envuelto en pañales y acostado en un pesebre."

13_ Y de pronto se juntó con el ángel una multitud del ejército celestial, que alababa a Dios, diciendo: 14_ "Gloria a Dios en las alturas y en la tierra paz a los hombres en quienes él se complace." 15_ Y sucedió que cuando los ángeles, dejándoles, se fueron al cielo, los pastores se decían unos a otros: "Vayamos, pues, hasta Belén y veamos lo que ha sucedido y el Señor nos ha manifestado."

16_ Y fueron a toda prisa, y encontraron a María y a José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.
17_ Al verlo, dieron a conocer lo que les habían dicho acerca de aquel niño; 18_ y todos los que lo oyeron se maravillaban de lo que los pastores les decían.

Desde el momento de su nacimiento como hombre, Jesús nos da una gran lección, El no nació en cuna de oro ni en pañales de seda, sino que nace como cualquier niño de los barrios de Managua, de las favelas de Río Janaeiro; para demostrarnos que nuestro éxito en la vida no depende de circunstancias externas, sino de nuestra obediencia a la ley de Dios, a nuestro esfuerzo personal y la constancia y disciplina que ejerzamos en todos nuestros proyectos. Que no los deslumbre ni la fama, ni la fortuna, busquen mas bien, los valores y principios Cristianos, sean verdaderos imitadores de Cristo, y ejerzan responsabilidad hacia su familia y a su patria.

(Salmo 19:10) La palabra del Señor es pura,
permanece para siempre;
los juicios del Señor son la verdad,
enteramente justos.

11_ Son más atrayentes que el oro,
que el oro más fino;
más dulces que la miel,
más que el jugo del panal.

12_ También a mí me instruyen:
observarlos es muy provechoso.

No se dediquen solamente a comprar cosas (cachivaches y chucherías) en las tiendas, que en vez de ser dominados por el espíritu del consumismo, sean controlados por el Espíritu de Dios; recordemos que la Navidad es mas que nada una fiesta de acercamiento familiar, de dar gracias a Dios por la persona de su Hijo Amado; reconciliemos nuestras relaciones con familiares y amigos, vayamos a la Iglesia a dar gracias a Dios por nuestra familia, por nuestra patria, por el trabajo (empleo o chamba) que tenemos, y la salud de la que gozamos; bendigamos al Padre por habernos creado, bendigamos a Cristo el Señor por su gran amor y sacrifico por nosotros, por habernos redimido, y al Espíritu Santo por derramar sus dones sobre la Iglesia, nuestra tierra, nuestros hijos y todos nuestros hermanos.

(Matthew 2:6)"But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will be the shepherd of my people Israel."

In ancient times, the birthday of a person wasn't as important as it is in modern society; nevertheless, clues exists to know approximately the birthday of some important people; through some important information plus the need to combat pagan myths, the church determined that the birthday of Christ would be officially celebrated on December the 25th, which also corresponds to the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere; this cyclical phenomena marks the beginning of longer days, in other words daylight becomes to increase, let's not forget that, Christ is: the light of the world.

(Matthew 2:1)After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2_and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."

Sharp minds don't need too much explanation about anything, all they need is a hint, the magis didn't need a “Gps” to find the exact location or address where they would find the baby Jesus and his parents ; following their astrological calculations and with some help from the Holy Spirit, they got to the place where the holy family was staying , they adored the newly born King of the Jews, and presented Jesus, Mary and Joseph with rich offerings.

The manger, was it a small wooden structure or was it a cave? Who cares! It still was a manger, where the shepherds kept their sheep, goats, donkeys and maybe some chickens, the important thing is not what kind of structure was it, but, its functionality.

(Matthew 2:10) When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11_On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. 12_And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

Since his birth, Jesus has been persecuted, today though, he is not persecuted by Herod and the religious fanatics that took Him to the cross; nowadays He's been persecuted by materialist fanatics that hate the holy symbols and icons of the Catholic church, even though they proudly display t-shirts with the face of rascals like the Che Guevara, politicians, popular musicians, professional athletes and other idols of their own making.

Jesus is been persecuted by the promoters of laicism, tolerance, political correctness and others that think they know what is best for the masses. In some countries that consider themselves as “civilized” and claim to respect the freedom of speech for all, resent the use of the expression: “Merry Christmas”; instead the radio and TV stations say: “Happy Holidays” or Happy Season”, is this tolerance? Is this freedom of speech? Give me a break!

(Isaiah 9:6) For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Rejoice, God has come to be with us (Emmanuel), He comes as a sweet fragile little baby that needs the care and attention of a mother, and of a pious father; by the way He came, Jesus elevates the dignity of little infants, and teaches us, that it is our responsibility to protect and defend the most vulnerable and innocent members of our society.

St. Joseph represents the head of household, who works hard to protect his family, who is honorable and descent, respectable, lover of God, and a good member of the community. Even though the angel Gabriel told Mary that her son would be the “son of the Most High God”, Joseph and Mary didn't abuse that privilege, neither asked for preferential treatment from the Lord, instead, they took full responsibility of their mission, and conducted themselves with humility and dedication.

Every Catholic knows that his well being and good living do not depend on the state (the government), but instead, his good fortune depends on hard work, his education, his faith, God's blessings and the support of his family. Be always aware of political leaders who try to enslave you through government hand outs, those who try to make the people addicted to public help and to think that the government will solve all their problems; be careful, because that type of system will rob the individual of his self-esteem, his pride and even his freedom, turning him into an dummy control by political parties.

(Luke 2:8) And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9_An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10_But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11_Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12_This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13_Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14_"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15_When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16_So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17_When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18_and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

Right from the moment of his birth, Jesus gives us a valuable lesson, He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, He was born instead, as any humble child in a poor family; proving to us this way, that our success in life does not depend on external circumstances, but, in obeying God's commandments, our individual effort, perseverance and discipline in all the projects of our life. Don't let fame and fortune, dazzle you, instead, look and practice the values and principles of Christianity, be true imitators of Christ and, be trustworthy, and responsible to your family and country.

(Psalm 19:9) The fear of the LORD is pure,
enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure
and altogether righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the comb.

11 By them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.

Don't think that Christmas is just a time to buy things and expend money on all kind of stuff; don't be controlled by a shopping frenzy, instead be controlled by the Holy Spirit, remember that Christmas is a family celebration, a time of intimacy, thanksgiving, reconciliation and adoration to God. Attend the church of your choice, and thank God for your family, your job, your country, your health and everything you have. Bless the Father for giving us life, for His Son and for the blessings of the Spirit in the church.

¿Quien causa tanta alegría?!!

¿Quien causa tanta alegría?!!

En Nicaragüa, devotos Católicos celebran entre los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre una novena a la sagrada Concepción de María, la cual llaman “La Purísima”; en el último día del novenario se invita a familiares y amigos a que lleguen a cantar y celebrar todos juntos con mucha alegría, el evento de la Concepción de la Virgen; en ese día la familia celebrante, reparte a los invitados, canastas de dulces (caramelos, confites, gofios), trozos de caña de azúcar, limones dulces, chicha (refresco de maíz), fresco de cacao
(refresco de chocolate), gorros de colores, sorbetes, pitos, y maracas para hacer ruido; ademas se explotan triquitracas (triquitraques), cohetes y un “toro encohetado” que corre como los de Pamplona, siguiendo a los chavalos (muchachos), disparando luces de colores y toda clase de 'fuegos artificiales'.

Al finalizar la celebración, una de las cantantes del coro, grita preguntando: “¿Quien causa tanta alegría?!! y todos los invitados contestan gritando con gran algarabía: “¡¡La Concepción de María!!”
Y eh ahí, el nombre de este artículo.

Dios envía a uno de los arcángeles, al pequeño pueblo de Nazaret, a anunciarles a Zacarías y a María la Virgen, las “buenas nuevas” (evangelium), de las cuales ellos serian protagonistas; es tan importante este evento, que se asigna a un ángel de muy alto rango a comunicar el maravilloso plan de Dios para salvar a la humanidad. (Lucas 1:19, 26,35, 38) "Yo soy Gabriel, el que está delante de Dios, y he sido enviado para hablarte y anunciarte esta buena nueva (el arcángel San Gabriel se dirige así a Zacarias que seria padre de Juan el Bautista)....Al sexto mes fue enviado por Dios el ángel Gabriel a una ciudad de Galilea, llamada Nazaret, a una virgen desposada con un hombre llamado José, de la casa de David; el nombre de la virgen era María. Y entrando, le dijo: "Salve, llena de gracia, el Señor está contigo." Ella se conturbó por estas palabras, y discurría qué significaría aquel saludo.

El ángel le dijo: "No temas, María, porque has hallado gracia delante de Dios;
vas a concebir en el seno y vas a dar a luz un hijo, a quien pondrás por nombre Jesús.
El será grande y será llamado Hijo del Altísimo, y el Señor Dios le dará el trono de David, su padre; reinará sobre la casa de Jacob por los siglos y su reino no tendrá fin." ... "El Espíritu Santo vendrá sobre ti y el poder del Altísimo te cubrirá con su sombra; por eso el que ha de nacer será santo y será llamado Hijo de Dios...Dijo María: "He aquí la esclava del Señor; hágase en mí según tu palabra." Y el ángel dejándola se fue.

La Virgen María demuestra una humildad única, humildad que será también expresada por su Hijo durante toda su vida como hombre aquí en la tierra :(Mateo 11:29) "Carguen sobre ustedes mi yugo y aprendan de mí, porque soy paciente y humilde de corazón, y así encontrarán alivio."

María obedece y no duda de las palabras del arcángel Gabriel, Jesús dirá mas tarde: (Juan 15:10) "Si guardáis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor, como yo he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre, y permanezco en su amor." (Juan 4:34) "Les dice Jesús: "Mi alimento es hacer la voluntad del que me ha enviado y llevar a cabo su obra."

La Virgen María demuestra gran fe en Dios, tan grande es su fe, que en ningún momento duda de la palabra de Dios, aun cuando el profeta Simeón le dice: (Lucas 2:29) "Ahora, Señor, puedes, según tu palabra, dejar que tu siervo se vaya en paz; porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación, la que has preparado a la vista de todos los pueblos, luz para iluminar a los gentiles y gloria de tu pueblo Israel."

Su padre y su madre estaban admirados de lo que se decía de él. Simeón les bendijo y dijo a María, su madre: "Este está puesto para caída y elevación de muchos en Israel, y para ser señal de contradicción - ¡y a ti misma una espada te atravesará el alma! - a fin de que queden al descubierto las intenciones de muchos corazones."

La fe que es una de las tres virtudes teologales, la demuestra la Virgen en toda su intensidad, y mas tarde su Hijo dirá: (Mateo 17:20) Les aseguro que si tuvieran fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, dirían a esta montaña: "Trasládate de aquí a allá", y la montaña se trasladaría; y nada sería imposible para ustedes".


Creen los Católicos que la Virgen María es una diosa?

Por supuesto que no, el cariño, honor y devoción a la santa Madre de Dios, es nada mas que puro amor que nos identifica con nuestro Hermano Mayor; y que se debe no
sólo al hecho de que María es la hija predilecta de Dios; sino que por los méritos de su Hijo, se le debe una especial deferencia, ademas, agradecemos el regalo que Cristo nos hizo de su Madre cuando ya estaba en la cruz y dijo: (Juan 16:26) Jesús, viendo a su madre y junto a ella al discípulo a quien amaba, dice a su madre: "Mujer, ahí tienes a tu hijo." Luego dice al discípulo: "Ahí tienes a tu madre." Y desde aquella hora el discípulo la acogió en su casa.

El apóstol San Juan, quien era el mas joven de los “doce”, recibe el honor de ser de ahora en adelante el guardián y protector de la Madre de nuestro Señor; y a la vez María es designada nuestra madre espiritual. Nosotros respetamos ese honor y nos hacemos anfitriones de la Virgen, y abrimos no sólo nuestra casa, sino también el corazón a la mujer que regaló a la humanidad entera, la persona de su único hijo, Jesús de Nazareth.

Por que creer que María fue concebida sin pecado cuando la Biblia dice que “todos” hemos pecado?

Algunos “expertos” en la Biblia citan la "carta a los Romanos" como prueba de que la Virgen ha pecado y fue también concebida en el seno de su madre en pecado como cualquier 'chapiollo'; veamos pues su argumento.
(Romanos 3:9) Entonces ¿qué? ¿Llevamos ventaja? ¡De ningún modo! 10_Pues ya demostramos que tanto judíos como griegos están bajo el pecado, como dice la Escritura: No hay quien sea justo, ni siquiera uno solo. 11_ No hay un sensato, no hay quien busque a Dios. 12_ Todos se desviaron, a una se corrompieron; no hay quien obre el bien, no hay siquiera uno.

Las palabras claves en la que basan su argumento los “expertos” en la Biblia son: “ni siquiera uno solo”, “no hay un sensato”, y “todos” se desviaron; según su lógica, la palabra “todos” incluye también a la Virgen como una mas de los pecadores.

Si le preguntamos a cualquiera de estos amigos, “buscas tu a Dios en tu vida”? Casi todos ellos responderán con un rotundo: por supuesto! Lo cual prueba que ellos están en contradicción con el versículo (Romanos 3:11) que acabamos de mencionar, y que dice : que “no hay quien busque a Dios”lo cual presenta un problema para nuestros “expertos”, pues su interpretación absolutista, contradice su respuesta, o quizás sea que la Biblia (San Pablo) esta equivocada.

Si les preguntásemos también : “crees que, orar a Dios es bueno”? Nos contestaran con un sonoro, sí! Y si después le preguntamos: “oras tu”? Nos contestaran también que sí!. Lo cual contradice el versículo 12 que mencionamos arriba, y que dice que: “no hay quien obre el bien”. Según los “expertos” la palabra “todos” tendría que incluir a bebes y niños antes de la edad del racionamiento, lo cual, no cuadra con la justicia infinita de Dios, o es que El también esta equivocado? Hummm! Mas bien parece que para los “expertos en la Biblia”, la palabra “todos” varia, si les conviene a ellos significaría una cosa, pero si no, se le da el significado que nos parezca. He ahí el problema del fundamentalismo.

(Lucas 1:6) Hubo en los días de Herodes, rey de Judea, un sacerdote, llamado Zacarías, del grupo de Abías, casado con una mujer descendiente de Aarón, que se llamaba Isabel;
6_ los dos eran justos ante Dios, y caminaban sin tacha en todos los mandamientos y preceptos del Señor.

Aquí tienen otra prueba que San Pablo no quiere decir que todos sin excepción han pecado, simplemente el se estaba refiriendo al Salmo 14 que habla de los tontos que no creen en Dios (por favor lean el Salmo 14 en su totalidad para que puedan comprender este argumento), y la situación de los judíos y los gentiles que pasaban ahora ha ser también todos un sólo pueblo de Dios; San Lucas nos dice que Zacarias e Isabel “eran justos ante Dios”, lo cual desintegra el argumento de los “expertos” que sólo lo que intentan es, mancillar la imagen de la Virgen María, que Dios los perdone.

(Lucas 1:15) El ángel le dijo: "No temas, Zacarías, porque tu petición ha sido escuchada; Isabel, tu mujer, te dará a luz un hijo, a quien pondrás por nombre Juan;14_ será para ti gozo y alegría, y muchos se gozarán en su nacimiento, 15_ porque será grande ante el Señor; no beberá vino ni licor; estará lleno de Espíritu Santo ya desde el seno de su madre.

San Juan Bautista estaba lleno del Espíritu Santo, desde el seno de su madre, o sea que no conoció pecado, o es que sí? Por supuesto que no! Y si San Juan Bautista que estaba supuesto a enderezar el camino delante del Señor, fue concebido con la gracia del Espíritu, no creen que la Madre del Señor haya tenido también semejante privilegio, o es que no creen cuando el arcángel Gabriel nos dice: (Lucas 1:37) “Nada es imposible para Dios.”?

Adán y Eva fueron creados sin pecado, la diferencia entre el primer Adán y el segundo Adán, es que el primero pecó y el segundo Adán, no pecó; no creen que la diferencia entre la primera y la segunda Eva, es que la primera pecó, y la Virgen no pecó?


Pero como puede María escuchar las plegarias de millones de persona, si ella no es Dios?

María es una criatura hecha por el Padre, al igual que somos vos y yo, sin embargo, no podemos limitar a Dios al plano simplemente material, Dios es espíritu y se desenvuelve espiritualmente; no olvidemos por tanto, que el plano espiritual controla al plano material, recordemos que de la nada,Dios hizo al mundo, y todo lo que existe. Acaso tus pensamientos son materiales? Puede alguien darnos la medida en pulgadas y el peso en onzas de un pensamiento? Ni el mas ducho de los “Darwinistas, ni de los Marxistas puede probarnos semejante cosa; sin embargo, tus pensamientos inmateriales, controlan tu mundo material, así mismo, Dios y los santos que viven en la eternidad en forma espiritual, pueden controlar la creación entera.

Dios ha dado poder a sus discípulos aquí en la tierra, y en ningún momento se ha dicho que ese poder es limitado a este mundo: (Lucas 9:1) Convocando a los Doce, les dio autoridad y poder sobre todos los demonios, y para curar enfermedades; y los envió a proclamar el Reino de Dios y a curar.

El Espíritu Santo, ungió de poder permanente a la Iglesia el día de Pentecostés, y si nos fijamos bien, ya la Virgen María había sido ungida de antemano por Dios mismo, sino, recuerden el saludo del arcángel Gabriel: “Salve, llena de gracia.” San Gabriel no dijo: “seras llenada de gracia”, o “se te consederá la gracia de Dios.” No! María ya era “llena de gracia.” (Lucas 24:49) "Mirad, y voy a enviar sobre vosotros la Promesa de mi Padre. Por vuestra parte permaneced en la ciudad hasta que seáis revestidos de poder desde lo alto." Y cual es ese poder que llega desde lo alto? Acaso no es la unción del Espíritu Santo? Y ya no estaba María ungida desde el principio?

Recordemos ademas las palabras y promesa del Señor : (Juan 14:12) “En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que crea en mí, hará él también las obras que yo hago, y hará mayores aún, porque yo voy al Padre.” Hellooo!! estan oyendo? Quieres mas masa lorita?
Acaso no saben que el Señor concede su poder a sus santos? Acaso muchos que han abandonado la Iglesia del Señor para unirse a otras sectas, no andan detrás de predicadores que dicen hacer milagros? Porqué creen en palabras de hombre y no las de Dios? Despierten! No se dejen dar atol con el dedo.
María y todos los santos del cielo, ejercen el poder que Dios les ha otorgado, y es ese poder, el que los capacita a hacer milagros, en el nombre de Jesús.

A como ya les dije en otro artículo de este blog, el Señor ordenó a Moisés a que se quitara las sandalias de sus pies, porque el lugar que él pisaba era santo,(Éxodo 3:5) o sea que la presencia de Dios purificó hasta la mugre que había en las faldas del monte Horeb. Y cuánto tiempo pasó Jesús en el vientre de su Madre? Puede toda una montaña ser purificada por la presencia de Dios y no así el ser entero de María, quien andubo al niño Jesus en su vientre gestándolo por nueve meses? A todos los que odian a María la Virgen les recuerdo las palabras del Señor:
(Hechos 10:15) La voz le dijo por segunda vez: "Lo que Dios ha purificado no lo llames tú profano."

Celebramos con alegría la Inmaculada Concepcion de María, y en si el plan de salvación de Dios, alabamos a la vez a Dios Padre, a nuestro Redentor y al Espíritu Santo que son nuestra fortaleza y nuestro refugio.

Aclame al Señor toda la tierra,
2 sirvan al Señor con alegría,
lleguen hasta él con cantos jubilosos.

3 Reconozcan que el Señor es Dios:
él nos hizo y a él pertenecemos;
somos su pueblo y ovejas de su rebaño.

entren en sus atrios con himnos de alabanza,
alaben al Señor y bendigan su Nombre.

En la celebración de la “Purísima” cantamos con alegría, pues la bella doncella que Dios escogió para madre de su Hijo, es tambien nuestra Madre; élla por estar llena del Espiritu Santo, estaba llena de alegría, que es uno de los frutos del Espíritu, ademas nunca nadie ha estado mas cerca de Dios que nuestra Madre María.

In Nicaragua, it is a Catholic tradition to celebrate between the months of November and December, a novena in honor of the Immaculate conception of Mary; at the last day of this novena which is called “Purisima”, the host family invites friends and relatives to come and celebrate together, singing gospel songs and praying; the host family serves the guests with bags of candies, sweet lemons, chunks of sugar cane, and beverages made of corn (chicha) and cocoa (fresco de cacao), funny hats, ice cream, whistles and noise makers; besides all that, they explode artificial fire works and run a bull made of fire crackers and sparklers of colors, that make the kids (chavalos) go crazy.

At the end of the celebration one the choir members shouts the question: Who's causing all this excitement?!! And everyone shouts back: La concepción de Maria!! And that in a nut shell, is the meaning of a “purisima”.

God sent one of his archangels to the little town of Nazareth, to announce to Zacharia and the Virgin Mary, the “good news” of which they would be the main characters; this event is so important that, a high commander of the hosts of heaven is sent to communicate the wonderful plan of God to save the people from the slavery of sin. (Luke 1:19, 26, 35, 38) 19_The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news
....26_In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28_The angel went to her and said, "Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with you."  29_Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30_But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.

31_You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32_He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33_and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." …. 35_ "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. ... 38_"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

The virgin Mary shows tremendous humility, the same kind of humility that will be expressed later by her son, during his life as a man:(Matthew 11:29) 29_Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Mary obeys and does not doubt the words of Gabriel the archangel, Jesus will later say: (John 15:10)If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. (John 4:34) "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”

Mary's faith in God is big, so big that she never doubts or waffles, even when the prophet Simeon tells her: (Luke 2:29) "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace.
 30_For my eyes have seen your salvation,
    31_which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
 32_a light for revelation to the Gentiles
      and for glory to your people Israel."
 33_The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34_Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35_so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too."

Faith is one of the three theological virtues, and the Virgin has it in great intensity, later on Jesus will say: (Matthew 17:20)... “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Do Catholics believe that Mary is a goddess?

Of course not, the love, honor and devotion we give Mary, is caused by our love and our identification with our Older Brother; it is not only because Mary is the favorite Daughter of God, but, because of the merits of her Son, we give her a special treatment, besides, it's a way to show Christ our appreciation for giving us His Mother, as you might recall, when He was on the cross, He said: (John 19:26) When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27_and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

The apostle John who was the youngest of the “twelve” received the honor of being designated the guardian and protector of the Mother of the Lord, this same event makes of Mary our spiritual Mother. We Catholics respect and appreciate such honor, thus, we not only receive Mary in our homes but, in our hearts as well, she is the woman who gave her only Son as a gift to humanity, the man, Jesus of Nazareth.

How could Mary listen and answer the prayers of millions of people, if she is not God?

Mary, same as you and me, is a creature made by God, nevertheless, we could not limit God only to our material world, God is a spirit, and functions in a spiritual state and dimension; let's not forget that the spiritual world controls the material world, remember that God, made the whole universe and everything that exists out of nothing; aren't your thoughts immaterial, could someone gives us the size and weight of a thought? Not even the most clever of the Darwinist or the Marxists could do such a thing; and yet, your immaterial thoughts control your material world, in similar manner, God and the saints in heaven could control the whole creation.

The Lord provided his disciples with power here on earth, but, nobody can say that, that power is limited to this world only (Luke 9:1) When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2_and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3_He told them: "Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic.

Once and for all, the Holy Spirit anointed the Church on the day of Pentecost, if we pay close attention, we'll see that the holy Virgin Mary had been anointed before hand by God right from the beginning, just remember the way the archangel Gabriel greeted the holy Mother: “Hail Mary, full of grace.” Gabriel didn't say: “you'll be filled with grace” or “you'll be allowed some grace” No! Mary is “full of grace right from her conception. (Luke 24:49) “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." And what is that power from on high? Is it not the anointing of the Holy Spirit? And wasn't Mary anointed from the beginning?

Besides all we have said, let's remember the promise of the Lord: (John 14:12) “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13_And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14_You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” Helloooo! Are you listening? Do you need more proof?
Doesn't God provide the saints with his power? Aren't many who abandoned the Church, now running behind preachers who claimed to do miracles? Why do you believe arguments of men and not the word of God? Wake up! Don't allow anybody to treat you like a fool!
Mary and all the saints exercise the power God has given them, and it is that power that allows them to perform miracles in the name of Jesus.

As I already mentioned to you, Yahweh ordered Moses to take off his sandals, because the ground he was standing on was holy (Exodus 3:5), the presence of God purify even the filth on the ground of mount Horeb; and how long was Jesus in Mary's womb? Could a whole mountain be purified by the presence of God, but, not Mary's whole being, who carried Jesus in her womb in a state of gestation for nine months? All those who despise the holy Virgin Mary should remember the words of God in:(Acts 10:15) "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

We celebrate with joy the Immaculate Conception and the whole plan of salvation that the Lord designed for us, thanks be to God our refuge and our strength.
(Psalm 100) 1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
 2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
       come before him with joyful songs.
 3 Know that the LORD is God.
       It is he who made us, and we are his [a] ;
       we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
       and his courts with praise;
       give thanks to him and praise his name.
 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
       his faithfulness continues through all generations.

In the celebration of the “Purisima”, we sing gospel songs of gladness and happiness, in honor of the Mother of the Lord who is also our Mother, she was filled with joy by the Spirit and nobody has been closer to Jesus than our Lady. Long live Christ the King!
Long live God the Father!
Long live the Catholic Church!
Long live Mary the Queen of heaven!

Why should anybody believe that Mary was conceived without sin, when the Bible says that “all” have sinned?

Some Bible “experts” cite the book of “Romans” as proof that Mary committed sin, and that she was also conceived in sin by her parents, even though nothing like that, is said in the above mentioned book; let's look at their “proof”.
(Romans 3:9) What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10_As it is written:
   "There is no one righteous, not even one;
    11_there is no one who understands,
      no one who seeks God.
 12_All have turned away,
      they have together become worthless;
   there is no one who does good,
      not even one."

The key words in this verse are:all, “there is no one” and “not even one”; according to the logic of the “experts” the word “all” in this verse, covers even the Virgin Mary, as one more of the sinners.

If we could ask any of these wizards in Scripture: do you seek God in your life? He'll probably answer with a resounding, yes I do! Which will put him in contradiction with (Rom.3:11) that we just mentioned, and which says: “no one seeks God”, his answer contradicts his absolutist interpretation of the Bible, or maybe in this case, the Bible (St. Paul) is wrong. What do you think?

Now if we ask them: do you think to pray to God, is a good thing? They will probably answer:but of course! Which now puts them in contradiction with verse 12 of the passage we just presented to you, and which says: “there is no one who does good”. According to the “experts” the word “all” would have to include babies and young children before the age of reasoning, which is incompatible with God's justice, or is He also, wrong? Hmm!

(Luke 1:6)In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6_Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly.

Here we have one more proof, that St. Paul in Romans was not talking about “all men and women” without exception, he was only citing Psalm 14 which first starts talking about the “fool that does not believe in God”, and using it to explain the fact, that now Jews and gentiles were, because of Christ, one people of God. St Luke in the above passage tells us that Zachariah and Elizabeth were “upright in the sight of God” which contradicts the “experts'” interpretation of the Scripture, and who are only trying to discredit our Lady, may God have pity on them.

(Luke 1:15)... “for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from the womb of his mother.” Here the archangel Gabriel is talking about John the Baptist, who is filled with the Spirit, even from his mother's womb, in other words, John the Baptist didn't know sin, or did he? Of course, not! And if John was filled with the Spirit even before his birth, wouldn't you believe that the mother of the Lord could do the same or better? Or is it that, you don't believe the words of Gabriel, when he says : (Luke 1:37) “For nothing is impossible with God.”?

Adam and Eve were created without sin, the difference between the first Adam and the second Adam is that, as men, the first Adam sinned, but, the second Adam did not; would you believe that the difference between the first Eve and the second Eve, would be that, the first Eve sinned, but, the second Eve did not?

Quién dices tu que soy yo?

(Mateo 16:13) Al llegar a la región de Cesárea de Filipo, Jesús preguntó a sus discípulos: "¿Qué dice la gente sobre el Hijo del hombre? ¿Quién dicen que es?".
Ellos le respondieron: "Unos dicen que es Juan el Bautista; otros, Elías; y otros, Jeremías o alguno de los profetas".
"Y ustedes, les preguntó, ¿quién dicen que soy?".

Tomando la palabra, Simón Pedro respondió: "Tú eres el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios vivo". Y Jesús le dijo: "Feliz de ti, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque esto no te lo ha revelado ni la carne ni la sangre, sino mi Padre que está en el cielo."

Pedro lleno del Espíritu Santo contestó correctamente la pregunta del Señor; para poder reconocer a Jesús, necesitamos la inspiración del Espíritu Santo en nuestro corazón, así como cuando caminamos en la oscuridad necesitamos de una lámpara, para no tropezar; de igual manera nuestra alma necesita de la luz del Espíritu para comprender las verdades espirituales. Es obvio que la respuesta de Pedro no dependió de su inteligencia ni de su descendencia judía, todo fue gracias a la acción del Espíritu en él.

Jesús hoy te hace a ti la misma pregunta: Quien dices tu, que soy yo?
Puedes responder correctamente, o estás confundido? Es Cristo para ti sólo un hombre que hace milagros, es una medalla, una figura histórica, un buen predicador, un idealista, un moralista, una figura solitaria, o el Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo?

Cuando oremos, pidamosle al Padre que nos de el Espíritu Santo, que derrame su luz y bendición sobre la Iglesia; que todos y cada uno de nosotros recibamos los dones y la bendición del Espíritu.
Nuestro Señor antes de ascender al cielo, enfatizó la importancia de poseer al Espíritu, y nos dijo: (Juan 14:18) "No os dejare huérfanos...Le pediré al Padre y El os dará otro Paráclito---que estará con ustedes siempre: El Espíritu de la Verdad."

(Juan 16:7,13) "Yo os digo la verdad:Os conviene que yo me vaya; porque si no me voy, no vendrá a vosotros el Paráclito; pero si me voy, os lo enviaré: y cuando él venga, convencerá al mundo en lo referente al pecado, en lo referente a la justicia y en lo referente al juicio... Cuando venga él, el Espíritu de la verdad, os guiará hasta la verdad completa.


Así como hay leyes de la Física, Química, Matemáticas y Termodinámica, hay también leyes espirituales, las cuales podemos entender sólo con la asistencia y ayuda del Paráclito; a como bien saben, nuestra naturaleza no es solamente física, sino que también espiritual, por eso nuestro Señor nos dijo: (Mateo 4:4) “Esta escrito: 'No solo de pan vive el hombre, sino también de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.'”
Muchos de nosotros cuidamos muy bien de nuestro cuerpo físico, sin embargo desatendemos nuestra salud espiritual, poniéndonos así en peligro de ser seducidos por el pecado, o engañados con filosofías diabólicas y el error.

Es importante que leamos la Biblia por lo menos 30 minutos al día, o que leamos el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica para ejercitar y fortalecer nuestro músculo espiritual, para incrementar nuestro conocimiento y comprensión de Cristo y su doctrina; de la misma forma que nuestro cuerpo necesita de vitaminas, proteínas, agua, carbohidratos y ejercicio; necesitamos también orar, leer la Biblia, meditar la palabra de Dios, confesarnos e ir a Misa, para estar espiritualmente vigorosos.

Recibimos el Espíritu Santo en nuestro Bautismo y la Confirmación



Quizás te preguntes cuándo recibimos el Espíritu Santo, y porqué tenemos que llenarnos del Espíritu?
Recibimos al Espíritu de forma total y completa durante nuestro bautismo, y llegamos a obtener una mejor comprensión de El, en nuestra confirmación (si somos confirmados como adolescentes o, adultos); de manera que cuando se nos dice que debemos de llenarnos del Espíritu, significa que debemos de estar mas atentos a su presencia y mas abiertos y obedientes a sus mandatos, voluntariosos a su gracia, y mas dóciles a sus inspiraciones.

Así como todos los graduados universitarios de una misma clase, habrán recibido la misma educación, pero no todos ellos utilizarán su conocimiento con la misma destreza y habilidad; de igual manera, todos los bautizados recibimos el mismo Espíritu, pero no todos recibimos los mismos dones, o producimos los mismos frutos en calidad o cantidad. Así como algunos de los graduados antes mencionados nunca utilizarán su conocimiento, algunos Cristianos nunca honrarán al Espíritu que mora en ellos; deberíamos sin embargo tratar de vivir nuestra vida, guiados por el Espíritu, quien es la marca de los hijos de Dios: (Romanos 8:9, 14) “Si alguno entre nosotros no tiene en él, el Espíritu de Cristo, no pertenece a Cristo...todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, son hijos de Dios.”

San Cirilo de Jerusalen nos dice: “ Como un árbol seco que produce retoños al ser regado, el alma produce frutos de santidad, por el arrepentimiento que la hace digna de recibir al Espíritu Santo. Aunque el Espíritu nunca cambia, los efectos de su acción, por la voluntad de Dios y en el nombre de Cristo, son muchos y maravillosos.

El Espíritu hace a un hombre maestro de la verdad divina, inspira a otro a profetizar, le da a uno el poder de expulsar demonios, hace de otro un interprete de las sagradas Escrituras. El Espíritu fortalece el auto-dominio de unos, a otros los hace trabajadores de la caridad, le ensena a otros a ayunar y llevar una vida ascética, otros son hechos indiferentes a las necesidades del cuerpo, y aun otros son entrenados para el martirio. Su acción es diferente en diferentes individuos, pero el Espíritu en si, es siempre el mismo Espíritu.” La Escritura dice: (1 Corintios 12:7) “ A cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común.”

La necesidad de orar a Dios por el Espíritu (el Regalo de Dios)

(Mateo 7:11) Si ustedes, que son malos, saben dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, ¡cuánto más el Padre de ustedes que está en el cielo dará cosas buenas a aquellos que se las pidan!

(Lucas 11:13) Si, pues, vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar cosas buenas a vuestros hijos, ¡cuánto más el Padre del cielo dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan!"

San Mateo llama al Espíritu “cosas buenas”, por su capacidad de proveernos con muchos dones, mientras que San Lucas simplemente le llama el “Espíritu Santo”, sin embargo en ambos casos el Señor hace hincapié en que debemos de orar al Padre para que nos dé el Espíritu Santo, para llegar a tener verdadera sabiduría y entendimiento. Una cosa es segura, el Señor siempre está dispuesto a darnos el Regalo del Espíritu, y a dárnoslo en abundancia.

(Juan 3:34) “Porque aquel a quien Dios ha enviado habla las palabras de Dios, porque da el Espíritu sin medida.”

(Juan 4:14) “Pero el que beba del agua que yo le dé, no tendrá sed jamás, sino que el agua que yo le dé se convertirá en él en fuente de agua que brota para vida eterna."

Así es, ríos de agua viva brotarán de la comunidad de creyentes , si todos oramos porque el Espíritu Santo bendiga nuestra Iglesia, nuestros hogares, las escuelas, el gobierno, a los jóvenes, las cosechas del campo, y las obras de nuestras manos.

Luchamos contra los pricipados y potestades del mal

(Lucas 11:23) "El que no está conmigo, está contra mí, y el que no recoge conmigo, desparrama.
"Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale del hombre, anda vagando por lugares áridos, en busca de reposo; y, al no encontrarlo, dice: "Me volveré a mi casa, de donde salí."
Y al llegar la encuentra barrida y en orden.
Entonces va y toma otros siete espíritus peores que él; entran y se instalan allí, y el final de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el principio."

Debemos de comprender la importancia de llenarnos del Espíritu, ademas de confesarnos, debemos de leer mucho las Escrituras, meditarlas y practicar lo que se nos ensena; existe una ley en la naturaleza que dicta que todo espacio vacío debe ser llenado con algo, puede ser aire, agua, buenas cosas o, malas; se requiere un gran esfuerzo para mantener un espacio, completamente sin nada.
Si limpiamos un terreno y no lo atendemos, se llenará muy pronto de maleza, si abrimos un hoyo, se comenzará a llenar de basura, tierra y cualquier cosa, y así por el estilo.

Nuestro cerebro sigue casi exactamente la misma ley, si no tenemos buenos pensamientos, tendremos malos pensamientos, si no llenamos nuestro cerebro con buen conocimiento e información, lo haremos con mala información y conocimiento perverso. Es lo que ha pasado con muchos jóvenes que han rechazado la palabra de Dios, muchos de ellos han terminado embutiendo sus cerebros con ideologías malignas, como el socialismo, comunismo, Nueva Era y toda clase de pensamientos corruptos.No hay vuelta de hoja, si no tenemos al Espíritu Santo en nuestro corazón, tendremos ‘otros’ espíritus que nos guiarán por el error y el engaño.

(Salmo 104:27) Todos esperan de ti que les des la comida a su tiempo: se la das, y ellos la recogen;
abres tu mano, y quedan saciados. Si les quitas el aliento, expiran y vuelven al polvo.
Si envías tu Espíritu, son creados, y renuevas la superficie de la tierra.

Diferentes pensadores han prometido o diseñado varios sistemas de justicia social, sin embargo, son todos planes basados sobre arena movediza; la justicia social puede existir solamente si tenemos el Espíritu de Cristo en nuestro corazón, y si cumplimos cabalmente con los dos primeros mandamientos de la ley de Dios.

La Nueva Era es un movimiento compuesto de una mezcla maligna, es una pseudo-religión que combina el hinduismo, gnosticismo, filosofías orientales, espiritismo y satanismo; para confundir y atraer a mentes débiles e ignorantes, a creer de que existe otra forma de llegar al cielo ademas del Cristianismo, sus preceptos están todos basados en la mentira.

(Efesios 6:10) Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en la fuerza de su poder.
Revestíos de las armas de Dios para poder resistir a las acechanzas del Diablo.
Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre, sino contra los Principados, contra las Potestades, contra los Dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los Espíritus del Mal que están en las alturas.

Por eso, tomad las armas de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y después de haber vencido todo, manteneros firmes. ¡En pie!, pues; ceñida vuestra cintura con la Verdad y revestidos de la Justicia como coraza, calzados los pies con el Celo por el Evangelio de la paz, embrazando siempre el escudo de la Fe, para que podáis apagar con él todos los encendidos dardos del Maligno.

Tomad, también, el yelmo (casco) de la salvación y la espada del Espíritu, que es la Palabra de Dios; siempre en oración y súplica, orando en toda ocasión en el Espíritu, velando juntos con perseverancia e intercediendo por todos los santos, y también por mí, para que me sea dada la Palabra al abrir mi boca y pueda dar a conocer con valentía el Misterio del Evangelio, del cual soy embajador entre cadenas, y pueda hablar de él valientemente como conviene...

Paz a los hermanos, y caridad con fe de parte de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo en la vida incorruptible.

Who do you say I am?

(Matt 16:13) When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."

Peter filled with the Spirit answered correctly the question of the Lord ; in order to recognized Jesus, we need the Holy Spirit inspiration in our heart, if we have to walk through a dark place, we need the help of the light of a lamp or, we would stumble; it is the same thing with our soul, it needs the light of the Holy Spirit to be able to understand the spiritual truths. Peter's answer didn't depend on his intelligence or his ancestry, it was all the action of the Spirit.

Today, Christ is asking you the same question: Who do you say I am?
Could you give a good answer, or are you confused? Is Christ for you, only a miracle worker, a medal, a historical figure, a good preacher, an idealist, a moralist, a lonely figure, a good speaker or The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world?

When we pray, we should ask the Father to give us the Holy Spirit, to shower the church with his light and his blessings; we should pray that every body receive the blessings and gifts of the Spirit.
Our Lord before ascending into heaven stressed out the importance of the Spirit when he told us: (John 14:18) I will not leave you orphaned...I will ask the Father and He will give you another Paraclete—to be with you always: the Spirit of truth.

(John 16:7,13) I tell you the sober truth: it is much better for you that I go. If I fail to go, the Paraclete will never come to you, whereas if I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes, however, being the Spirit of Truth He will guide you to all truth.

The same way that there are laws of Physics, Chemistry, Math and Thermodynamics there are spiritual laws, which we could understand only if we are helped and assisted by the Paraclete; our nature is not only physical but spiritual as well, that's the reason our Lord told us: (Matthews 4:4) "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" .
We take good care of our bodies, but when it comes to our spiritual fitness, we lack good care, and thus run the risk of been swayed by the attractions of sin, or fooled by evil philosophies and error.

It is important to read the Bible at least 30 mins. A day; or to read the Catechism of the Catholic church to strengthen our spiritual muscle, increase our knowledge and understanding of Christ and his doctrine, the same way our body needs vitamins, mineral, proteins, water, carbohydrates and exercise; we need to pray, read the Bible, meditate on the word of God, confess our sins and go to Mass to be strong in the Spirit.

We receive the Holy Spirit at our Baptism and Confirmation

You might be asking yourself, when do we receive the Holy Spirit,and why do we need to be filled with Him?
We received the fullness of the Spirit at our Baptism and, a better understanding of Him at our Confirmation (if you were confirmed as a teenager or adult); so when we are told that we should be filled with the Spirit, it means that we should be more aware of his presence and more open (obedient) to his commands, willing to use his grace, and more docile to follow out his inspirations.

In a class at any college or university, all the students that graduate in it, would have received the same education, but not all the graduates will be able to use their knowledge with the same level of skill and proficiency; likewise, the Holy Spirit is given to every baptized person, but not all of us will produce the same kind or quality of fruit. The same way some of the graduates won't ever use their knowledge, some of us Christians, will never honor the Holy Spirit in us; we should however, try to live our lives guided by the Spirit, which is the mark of the children of God: (Romans 8:9,14) If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ...all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

St Cyril tells us: “Like a dry tree which puts forth shoots when watered, the soul bears the fruit of holiness when repentance has made it worthy of receiving the Holy Spirit. Although the Spirit never changes, the effects of His action, by the will of God and in the name of Christ, are both many and marvelous.

The Spirit makes one man a teacher of divine truth, inspires another to prophesy, gives another the power of casting out devils, enables another to interpret holy Scripture. The Spirit strengthens one man self-control, shows another how to help the poor, teaches another to fast and lead a life of asceticism, makes another oblivious to the needs of the body, trains another for martyrdom. His action is different in different people, but the Spirit Himself is always the same.”
“In each person,” Scripture says, “the Spirit reveals His presence in a particular way for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7).

The need to pray for the Spirit (The Gift of God)

(Matt. 7:11) If you, with all your sins know how to give your children what is good, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to anyone who asks Him!

(Luke 11:13) If you, with all your sins, know how to give your children good things, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.

Matthews calls the Spirit “good things,” because of his capacity to give us many different gifts, and Luke just calls Him “the Holy Spirit” however, Jesus in both of these accounts points to the fact that we should pray for the Spirit to the Father, to be able to achieve true wisdom and understanding. One thing is for sure, the Lord is always ready to give the Gift of the Holy Spirit to us, and He is willing to give it in abundance.

(John 3:34) For the One Whom God has sent speaks the words of God; He does not ration His Gift of the Spirit.

(John 4:14) “The water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of living water, welling up into eternal life.”

That's right, rivers of living water will flow from the community of believers, if we all pray for the Holy Spirit to bless our church, our homes, schools, our government, the youngsters, the crops of our land and the work of our hands.

Our struggle is against spiritual forces of evil

(Luke 11:23) "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.
"When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."

We must understand the importance of filling our soul with the Holy Spirit, besides confessing our sins, we must spend a good portion of our time, reading the word of God, meditating on it, and practicing what it says; there is a law in nature that dictates that any empty space (void) should be filled with something, it could be air, water, good things or even bad things; a great effort is required to keep an empty space completely vacuumed, empty of anything.

Your brains follow almost the same law of inertia, if you don't have good thoughts, you'll have evil thoughts, if you don't stuff your brains with good wholesome knowledge, you'll stuff it with unclean or perverted knowledge; that's exactly what happens to a lot of young people that reject the word of God, many of them end up filling up their brains with evil ideologies, like socialism, communism, new age and all kind of corrupted thoughts. If we want to increase our faith, we must stay close to the word of God, and our whole life will improve in every way.There is no alternative, if we don't have the Holy Spirit in our heart, we would have 'other' spirits that will lead us astray and away from the truth.

(Psalm 104:27) These all look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand,they are satisfied with good things.

When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust. When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.

Through history, many individuals have designed or, proposed different ways of social justice, but, all based on quick sand or man's feebleness; never the less social justice could exists only if we have the Spirit of God in our heart, and if we fully comply with the first two commandments of the law of God.

The New age movement is a diabolical mixture, a pseudo-religion that combines Hinduism, gnosticism, all kind of oriental philosophies, spiritism and satanism; to confuse the weak and feeble minds and to make them believe there is another way, besides Christ to be happy and get to heaven.

(Ephesians 6:10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Antes que nada, invito a todos los nuevos lectores de este blog, a que lean los artículos que aparecen en la lista de la izquierda/derecha, por favor lean tantos artículos a como les sea posible y verán como se fortalece su fe y conocimiento de la doctrina Católica.

Misterios Cristianos

Hablaremos ahora de lo que es un “misterio” en términos religiosos. Todos estamos familiarizados con novelas de misterio, películas de misterio y así por el estilo; usualmente las películas de misterio también incluyen cierto elemento tenebroso, quizás sea esa la razón por qué algunas personas toman como sinónimos las palabras misterio y espanto, lo cual no es correcto, porque no todos los misterios contienen elemento de miedo, ni todas las historietas de miedo son misteriosas.


Si buscamos en el diccionario, nos encontraremos con varias definiciones de la palabra “misterio”, pero en general, es algo desconocido, enigmático o secreto. Los “misterios” religiosos son enigmas, pero mas que nada, verdades que son reveladas de forma progresiva; algo similar a los descubrimientos de los secretos de la naturaleza, todos los días descubrimos algo nuevo en el campo de la medicina, la electrónica, la física, la química y en todas las otras ramas de la ciencia. El elemento principal es que "descubrimos algo nuevo” y que probablemente continuaremos descubriendo mas sobre la misma rama.

(Juan 14:25) “Os he dicho estas cosas estando entre vosotros.
Pero el Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo, que el Padre enviará en mi nombre, os lo enseñará todo y os recordará todo lo que yo os he dicho.”)

(Proverbios 8:17) Yo (Sabiduria) amo a los que me aman, y me hallan los que con diligencia me buscan.

Nuestro Señor dijo a sus discípulos que el Espíritu Santo les enseñaría mas y ellos comprenderían mejor los misterios Cristianos, los cuales son verdades reveladas a la Iglesia por el Espíritu Santo; estas verdades son para la gloria de Dios, y pare el bien y la edificación de la comunidad eclesiástica; estas verdades (misterios) están supuestas a ser compartidas y meditadas por todos los Cristianos, y no para ser guardadas como secretos o para el uso exclusivo de un pequeño grupo. En conclusión, los misterios Cristianos son mas que nada verdades reveladas y no secretos para ser engavetados.

Pneumatología

Pneumatología (del Griego Pneuma: aire o espíritu) es la doctrina que estudia las acciones (movimientos) del Espíritu Santo en la Iglesia y en el alma del creyente, en el período que abarca desde la Encarnación hasta la Segunda Venida del Señor. Estos actos del Espíritu se manifiestan en los eventos del día de Pentecostés, el sacramento del Bautismo y en la vida espiritual de la hermandad Cristiana.

(Hechos 2:1) Al llegar el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos reunidos en un mismo lugar.
De repente vino del cielo un ruido como el de una ráfaga de viento impetuoso, que llenó toda la casa en la que se encontraban. Se les aparecieron unas lenguas como de fuego que se repartieron y se posaron sobre cada uno de ellos; quedaron todos llenos del Espíritu Santo y se pusieron a hablar en otras lenguas, según el Espíritu les concedía expresarse.

Dos hechos importantes marcan el día de Pentecostés, 1_Es la primera vez que a los discípulos se les concede el don de “glossolalia” o capacidad de hablar en lenguas, ademas de otros dones que recibieron individualmente; 2_ fue el nacimiento ó, inauguración de la Iglesia, los discípulos pasaron de ser un grupo de creyentes a un “cuerpo unido” y animado por un solo Espíritu (la Iglesia).

(Lucas 1:41) Y sucedió que, en cuanto oyó Isabel el saludo de María, saltó de gozo el niño en su seno, e Isabel quedó llena de Espíritu Santo.

(Mateo 11:25) En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo: "Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, por haber ocultado estas cosas a los sabios y a los prudentes y haberlas revelado a los pequeños.

Sin el Espíritu Santo en nosotros, no podemos discernir los “misterios” de Dios, no importa que tan alto sea el grado de educación de la persona (incluyendo a teólogos), o cual sea la edad del individuo; lo que si es importante, es que Dios Espíritu Santo nos ilumine el entendimiento, para conocer (o reconocer) los designios de Dios.

Vemos en los dos versículos anteriores como una humilde mujer Judía llamada Isabel, recibe los dones de entendimiento y conocimiento, reconociendo así, no la voz de María, sino, la voz de la Madre del Señor; al mismo tiempo el bebé llamado Juan el Bautista quien es todavía un feto en el vientre de su madre, reconoce la presencia de Jesús el Mesías frente a él, y salta de alegría por tan bendita ocasión.

La Dimensión Personal de la Pneumatologia

(1 Corintios 6:19) ¿O no sabéis que vuestro cuerpo es santuario del Espíritu Santo, que está en vosotros y habéis recibido de Dios, y que no os pertenecéis? Este versículo afirma un clave concepto teológico y espiritual, que se refiere al residir del Espíritu Santo en el corazón del creyente que ha sido justificado por su fe en Cristo.

Para entender mejor las acciones o movimientos del Espíritu Santo en el individuo, la Iglesia las ha dividido en varias categorías, a como son: Las Virtudes Teologales, Los Dones del Espíritu, los Carismas Espirituales y los Frutos del Espíritu.

Virtudes Teologales

(1 Corintios 13:12) Ahora vemos en un espejo, en enigma. Entonces veremos cara a cara. Ahora conozco de un modo parcial, pero entonces conoceré como soy conocido.
Ahora subsisten la fe, la esperanza y la caridad, estas tres. Pero la mayor de todas ellas es la caridad.

Hablaremos primero de las Virtudes Teologales de Fe, Esperanza y Caridad (Ágape, amor); la Iglesia nos enseña que estas virtudes son alteraciones permanentes en la personalidad del creyente y su visión de la vida en general; cuando llevamos al Espíritu Santo en nuestro corazón, lo vemos todo de una forma diferente y actuamos de forma diferente; aun cuando estas virtudes son originadas por las acciones de Espíritu Santo en nosotros.

Su impacto y efecto puede ser reforzado en la vida del fiel, por medio de actuar de forma edificante y constructiva para acrecentar estas virtudes; por ejemplo, si hacemos muchas obras de caridad, reforzamos nuestra virtud de Caridad; si oramos mucho y tenemos fe en Dios, desarrollamos nuestra virtud de la Fe; si ponemos nuestras esperanzas en Cristo y actuamos con confianza y resolución, acrecentamos nuestra virtud de la Esperanza.

Los Dones del Espíritu

Los Dones del Espíritu son descritos en: (Isaiah 11:2) y si recuerdan comenzamos esta serie citándolos como: el espíritu de sabiduría, conocimiento, concejería, fortaleza, entendimiento, piedad y temor a Dios. Estos dones son un “poder” estable, un instinto espiritual que es activado en el alma del creyente en quien descansa el Espíritu, y quien recibe cierta clase de sabiduría muy especial.

Los Dones Carismáticos o Carismas

Carisma: don o poder concedido por Dios.
Los Carismas son también dones del Espíritu Santo, que ademas de los dones ya mencionados, se le asignan a ciertos fieles, o sea que no son distribuidos universalmente a todos, sino a unos pocos creyentes-- Para entender mejor lo concerniente a los Carismas veamos que dice San Pablo sobre este asunto.

(1 Corintios 12:4) Hay diversidad de carismas, pero el Espíritu es el mismo; diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo; diversidad de operaciones, pero es el mismo Dios que obra en todos. A cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común.

Porque a uno se le da por el Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de ciencia según el mismo Espíritu; a otro, fe, en el mismo Espíritu; a otro, carismas de curaciones, en el único Espíritu;
a otro, poder de milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversidad de lenguas; a otro, don de interpretarlas. Pero todas estas cosas las obra un mismo y único Espíritu, distribuyéndolas a cada uno en particular según su voluntad.

A como pueden ver arriba, no todos somos dotados con Carismas, pero todos en la Iglesia nos beneficiamos por la acción de estos Carismas, ya que su función principal y su fin, es el bien común y la edificación de la Iglesia de Cristo.
El mundo seglar, utiliza la palabra 'carisma' para definir la popularidad, la fama o el arrastre que tienen ciertas personas especialmente en el mundo del espectáculo, los deportes y la política, pero esa clase de 'carisma' no tiene nada que ver con los dones concedidos por el Espíritu Santo.

Los Frutos del Espíritu

Algunos 'expertos' argumentan que se debe decir: “el fruto (singular) del Espíritu” y no “los frutos (plural) del Espíritu” Déjenme darles la versión de mi madre, porque creo que ella sabe mas que los 'expertos' y porque yo no discuto con mi mami. Decidan uds. cual versión les gusta mas, pero por el momento aquí está. Si le pregunto a un grupo de niños cual es el fruto del palo de mango, ellos me contestan correctamente: el mango! Y si les pregunto cual es el fruto del árbol de aguacate, me contestan: el aguacate!

Ahora si les pregunto: cuantos mangos produce el palo de mango? Ellos me dicen: muchos! Y cuantos aguacates produce un árbol de aguacate? Me contestan: Muchos! O sea que el fruto del mango se llama mango, pero produce muchos mangos. Es lo mismo con el Espíritu Santo, quien nos da poder espiritual, para producir diferentes frutos espirituales.

La Iglesia nos enseña que los frutos del Espiritu son los efectos de tener en nosotros al Residente divino en nuestro corazon. San Pablo viene una vez mas a ayudarnos con su sabiduria: (Galatas 5:22) En cambio el fruto del Espíritu es amor, alegría, paz, paciencia, afabilidad, bondad, fidelidad,
mansedumbre, dominio de sí; contra tales cosas no hay ley.

El uso de la palabra “fruto” es apropiado, ya que uno no puede forzar una planta a que de frutos, pero sí podemos disfrutar los frutos cuando los haya, lo que si podemos hacer es abonar la planta y cultivarla para que dé mas frutos. Es algo similar con los frutos del Espíritu, que contrario a las virtudes que pueden ser incrementadas por medio de buenas obras, los frutos solamente pueden ser colectados una vez que lleguen, en otras palabras, los frutos espirituales no pueden ser forzados, son un regalo que Dios da a quien El los da. Sin embargo al igual que una planta, al llenarnos mas del Espíritu, los frutos también tienden a crecer.

Si soportamos las dificultades de la vida, si hacemos una llamada de cortesía a un hermano, si ayudamos al prójimo o simplemente le ofrecemos una mano, si evitamos una pelea o discusión con una persona provocativa, y si en todo esto mantenemos nuestra fe y confianza en Dios, estaremos actuando como árboles que dan buen fruto para gloria de Dios. Regresa de nuevo a la lista que San Pablo describe como los frutos del Espíritu y léela una y otra vez, mientras oras y crees en el poder de Dios en el nombre de Cristo, nunca olvidando que la humildad es la llave o el requisito para llevar en nosotros al Espíritu Santo.

El Pecado Imperdonable

Es posible por medio de cometer pecados graves, deslojar de nuestra alma al Espíritu Santo. (Marcos 3:22) Los escribas que habían venido de Jerusalén decían: "Está poseído por Belzebul y expulsa a los demonios por el poder del Príncipe de los demonios". Jesús los llamó y por medio de comparaciones les explicó: "¿Cómo Satanás va a expulsar a Satanás? Un reino donde hay luchas internas no puede subsistir.

Y una familia dividida tampoco puede subsistir. Por lo tanto, si Satanás se dividió, levantándose contra sí mismo, ya no puede subsistir, sino que ha llegado a su fin. Pero nadie puede entrar en la casa de un hombre fuerte y saquear sus bienes, si primero no lo ata. Sólo así podrá saquear la casa.

Les aseguro que todo será perdonado a los hombres: todos los pecados y cualquier blasfemia que profieran. Pero el que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, no tendrá perdón jamás: es culpable de pecado para siempre". Jesús dijo esto porque ellos decían: "Está poseído por un espíritu impuro".

Este es un asunto que ha sido explicado por muchas personas en muchas formas diferentes, sin embargo el punto principal es que existen pecados tan graves que pueden ser imperdonables, estando a la cabeza de la lista la blasfemia contra el Espíritu Santo, el cual es descrito en el versículo anterior como el asignar al Diablo las acciones de Dios.

La Iglesia en la sabiduría del Espíritu nos enseña que existen tres condiciones para que un pecado sea considerado, pecado mortal.

1_Accion de gravedad; 2_Consentimiento Libre;
3_ Pleno Conocimiento .

Objetivamente, la blasfemia es siempre una accion de gravedad. Si alguien SABE que esta haciendo algo muy malo, y LIBREMENTE decide continuar con la acción, aun despues de DELIBERAR sobre ella, entonces comete un pecado mortal.

Para obtener la salvación es necesario tener vida en Cristo por medio del Espíritu Santo, cuando una persona es bautizada, se hace por medio del agua y del Espíritu, de manera que si esa vida eterna se pierde subsecuente al bautizo al cometer un pecado mortal, esa vida puede ser restaurada solamente por medio del poder del mismo Espíritu Santo, usualmente por medio del sacramento de reconciliación (confesión), a como uds. recuerdan, nuestro Señor en:(Juan 20:20) después de soplar el Espíritu Santo sobre los apóstoles, les dio el poder de perdonar los pecados. (leer “capitulo 4” de esta serie)

Nuestro Señor cuando estaba siendo crucificado le pidió al Padre que perdonara a sus verdugos, porque no sabían lo que hacían, ellos creían que estaban ejecutando simplemente a un hombre cualquiera (El Hijo del Hombre) y no a una persona divina; aun así su crimen es algo increíble, pero si se arrepintieron después, puede que hayan sido perdonados, no sabemos, pero esperamos que si.

No arriesgues tu salvación, si estas en pecado mortal, restaurate a la gracia de Dios hoy mismo, confiésate esta tarde. Si en un momento de cólera o frustración has blasfemado contra Dios, definitivamente has pecado, pero quizás no sea el pecado imperdonable, por lo que es importante que te confieses lo antes posibles.

No te engañes, el sacramento de la confesión se nos ha dado libremente, está en nosotros si lo aceptamos o no; Dios no nos impone nada, somos libres de hacer con nuestra vida lo que se nos antoje, mi consejo es: escoge la vida.

Christian Mysteries

Now, let's talk about what is a “mystery”, in the religious sense. We are all familiar with mystery novels, mystery movies and so on, usually the mystery movies contain some scary element in them, and maybe that's why for some people the words, scary and mystery have become synonyms; but, that is not 100% right, because not all the scary things are mysterious, and not all mysteries are scary.

If we go to the dictionary, we can see that there are several definitions for the word “mystery”, but in general it is an unknown, an enigma or something secretive. The religious mysteries are enigmas, but more than anything else, truths that continue to reveal themselves more and more; something similar to the secrets of nature, everyday we discover new things about medicine, electronics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc, etc. but, the key is, that “something new” have been discovered about that particular subject, and probably there will be more new knowledge concerning the same thing, in the future.

(John 14:26) “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

(Proverbs 8:17)I (Wisdom) love those who love me,and those who seek me find me.

Our Lord told his disciples that more knowledge was going to be given to them by the “Paraclete”, the mysteries of the church or Christian mysteries, are the truths reveal to us by the Spirit; these truths are for the glory of God, the good and edification of the community of the church; this truths (mysteries) are supposed to be share and ponder by all the Christians, and not to be kept secret or for the exclusive use of a few. So we could conclude that, a Christian “mystery” is more a spiritual truth revealed than a secret to be kept.

The Personal dimension of Pneumatology

(1 Corinthians 6:19) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? This verse is an affirmation, a key theological and spiritual concept that refers to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the heart of the believer who is justified by faith in Jesus Christ.
To better understand the actions of the Spirit in the individual, the church has categorized the movements of the Spirit into: Theological Virtues, Gifts of the Spirit, Charisms and the Fruits of the Spirit.

Theological Virtues

(1 Corinthians 13:12) Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

First let's look at the Theological Virtues, of Faith, Hope and Love (agape, or charity); the church teaches us that these are stable alterations of the believer’s personality and his outlook on life, when we have the Holy Spirit in our heart, we look at life a little bit differently and act differently; while these virtues originate in the action of the Holy Spirit their impact and effect can be strengthen in the life of the believer by choosing acts that build up these virtues; for example, by actually doing charitable acts, we build the Theological virtue of Charity. By praying and having faith in God, we become people of strong faith; by expressing and putting our hope in Christ, our Hope will become unbeatable.

The Gifts of the Spirit

The Gifts of the Spirit are described in (Isaiah 11:2) and if you remembered, we started this series citing them as: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, and the spirit of piety. We could say that these gifts are a stable “power” a kind of spiritual instinct which becomes activated in the soul of the believer upon whom the Spirit of the Lord should rest; in other words thanks to having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit a believer acquires access to special spiritual wisdom, knowledge, fortitude,...etc,etc.

The Charisms

Charism or Charisma is a divinely conferred gift or power. even though every justified believer is supposed to receive all the gifts mentioned above, the Charisms are gifts that are not universally distributed to all. To better understand this, let's look at what St. Paul teaches concerning the Charisms of the Spirit:

(1 Corinthians 12:4) Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues,
to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

As you can see in this passage, not everyone gets each and every charism personally, but everyone enjoys the benefits of the charisms because they are meant to be used in service to the common good or the building (edification) of the church of Christ.

Nowadays the secular world uses the term: 'charisma' to define the popularity, fame and mass appeal of certain members of the world of entertainment, professional sports and politics, but, that type of 'charisma' has nothing to do with the gifts conferred by the Holy Spirit.

The Fruits of the Spirit

There are some “theologians” that argue that we should say “the fruit (singular) of the Spirit” and not, “the fruits (plural) of the Spirit.”
Let me give you my “mother's interpretation”, because I think she knows better than any theologian, and because, I don't argue with my mom. At the end you decide which version you like best, but, for the moment, here it is. If I ask a group of kids what is the fruit of the apple tree, they will answer: the apple; if I ask them what is the fruit of the avocado tree, they will answer: the avocado.

Now if I ask them how many apples are produced by an apple tree, they will answer: many, many apples; and how many avocados are produced by an avocado tree, they will correctly answer: many, many avocados. These kids understand that even though the fruit of the apple tree is the apple, they know that an apple tree will produce many, apples; can you see the lesson in it?
Same thing with the Spirit, it gives us spiritual power, to produce different spiritual fruits.

Our church teaches us that the “fruits of the Spirit” are the direct effect of having the indwelling of the Spirit in our heart. St Paul again comes to our aid and tells us the following: (Galatians 5:22) The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.


The word “fruit” is appropriate in that you cannot force a plant to bear fruit, but you can enjoy those fruits when they come, and you can tend to the plant to help it to bear even more fruit. It is the same with the fruits of the Spirit. Unlike the virtues, which can be directly increased by choosing acts which amplify them, the fruits can only be collected when they come, in other words, they cannot be provoke. But just as with a plant, as the Spirit grows in his indwelling in us, these fruits tend to grow as well.

If we endure hardship, make a courteous phone call, help another or just provide a leaning shoulder, avoid another quarrel with a contentious person, and through all these keep our faith and trust in God, then, we might be good fruit bearing trees for the glory of God. Go back to what St. Paul describes as the fruit of the Spirit and read the list again, and again, and then practice them again and again, praying and believing in the power of God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, never forgetting that humility is the key to have the indwelling of the Spirit in our heart.

The Unforgivable Sin

It is possible to “chase out” the Holy Spirit from one's soul by committing serious sins.
(Mark 3:22) And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons."

So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house.

I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit.

This is a question that has been answered in many different ways by different people, but the main point here is, that there are sins so grave that could become unpardonable, being on top of the list, blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, which the above verse describes as assigning to the devil, what belongs to God, or charging as evil the actions of God.

The church in the wisdom of the Spirit describes to us mortal sin as requiring 3 conditions:
1_ Grave matter; 2_Deliberate consent; 3_Full knowledge.
Objectively, blasphemy is always grave matter. If someone KNOWS what they are doing is very wrong and if they FREELY choose to do it after giving it sufficient CONSIDERATION, then it is a mortal sin.

The life in Christ is necessary for salvation through the power of the Holy Spirit, when a person is baptized, it is done through water and the Spirit and so too, if that eternal life is lost subsequent to baptism through mortal sin, that life could only be restored through the power of that same Holy Spirit, normally through the sacrament of penance (confession), as you remember, the words of our Lord (John 20:20) immediately after breathing on the apostles the Holy Spirit he gave them the power to forgive sins (we have spoken about this in previous articles on the blog, and on “Part 4” of this series).

Our Lord (on the cross) asked the Father to forgive his executioners, because of their ignorance, they thought they were crucifying only a mere man (The Son of Man); even though their crime is beyond belief, if they repented of it afterward, they might have been forgiven, we don' know, but we hope they were. Don't take chances with your eternal salvation, restore the grace of God in your life today, go to confession this very afternoon and amend your life. If in a moment of rage or madness you have blaspheme the name of God, you have sin, but maybe not the unpardonable sin, that is why is so important for you to go to confession today.

Make no mistake, the sacrament of confession is freely offer to us, it is our decision to accept it or to reject it; God does not impose anything on us, we have free will to do with our lives whatever we want, my advice to you is: choose life.
