A como ya les he recomendado antes, lean todos los artículos que aparecen a la izquierda, y su fe crecerá mucho; su catolicísmo se verá fortalecido como por multivitaminas, y cada Misa será una experiencia bellísima con el Señor. Hoy comenzamos la primera parte del artículo titulado: La Iglesia Católica.
(Ezequiel 47:1)En aquellos días, el ángel me hizo volver a la entrada del templo. Del zaguán del templo manaba agua hacia el este -el templo miraba a levante-. El agua iba bajando por el lado derecho del templo, al mediodía del altar.
Me sacó por la puerta septentrional y me llevó a la puerta exterior que mira al este. El agua iba corriendo por el lado derecho.
Me dijo: «Estas aguas fluyen hacia la comarca oriental, bajarán hasta la estepa, desembocarán en el mar de las aguas salobres o, Mar Muerto, y lo sanearán. Todos los seres vivos que bullan allí donde desemboque la corriente, tendrán vida; y habrá peces en abundancia. Al desembocar allí estas aguas, quedará saneado el mar y habrá vida dondequiera que llegue la corriente.
A la vera del río, en sus dos riberas, crecerán toda clase de árboles frutales; no se marchitarán sus hojas ni sus frutos se acabarán; darán cosecha nueva cada luna, porque los riegan aguas que manan del santuario; sus frutos serán comestibles y sus hojas medicinales.»En la homilía de hace un par de domingos nos decían nuestros pastores que el Templo de este relato de Ezequiel es Cristo mismo.
(Juan 2:19) Respondió Jesús y les dijo: --Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.
Por tanto los judíos dijeron: --Durante cuarenta y seis años se construyó este templo, ¿y tú lo levantarás en tres días? Pero él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.
Por esto, cuando fue resucitado de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto y creyeron la Escritura y las palabras que Jesús había dicho.San Pablo nos dice que cada uno de nosotros es también un templo de Dios.
(1 Corintios 3:16) ¿No sabéis que sois templo de Dios, y que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros?
Si alguien destruye el templo de Dios, Dios lo destruirá a él; porque santo es el templo de Dios, el cual sois vosotros.Y por ultimo, San Pedro también hace una descripción del templo, y lo hace así:
(1 Pedro 2:5) "Y también son ustedes piedras vivas con las que se construye el Templo espiritual—la Iglesia--. Ustedes pasan a ser una comunidad de sacerdotes que, por Cristo Jesús, ofrecen sacrificios espirituales y agradables a Dios."Las aguas representan el Bautismo que limpia nuestros pecados, y los sacramentos que imparten la gracia de Dios, tal a como lo ordenó el Señor El Espíritu es la fuente u, hontanar de las aguas vivas que fluyen de la Iglesia, es ese rió de vida que nos sustenta, y que purifica al mundo entero. Los frutos son los frutos del Espíritu Santo, que crece en el corazón de los santos(seguidores) de Dios.
(Ezekiel 47:1) The angel led me back to the entrance of the Temple. Water was coming out from under the entrance and flowing east, the direction the Temple faced. It was flowing down from under the south part of the Temple past the south side of the altar.
The angel then took me out of the Temple area by way of the north gate and led me around to the gate that faces east. A small stream of water was flowing out at the south side of the gate.
(1:8)... He said to me, “This water flows through the land to the east and down into the Jordan Valley and to the Dead Sea. When it flows into the Dead Sea, it replaces the salt water of that sea with fresh water.
Wherever the stream flows, there will be all kind o animals and fish. The stream will make the water of the Dead Sea fresh, and wherever it flows, it will bring life.
(1:12)...On each bank of the stream all kinds of trees will grow to provide food. Their leaves will never wither, and they will never stop bearing fruit. They will have fresh fruit every month, because they are watered by the stream that flows from the Temple. The trees will provide food(fruits), and their leaves will be used for healing people.
As our pastors told us just a few weeks ago, the Temple refered to here, is Christ Jesus himself. (John 2:19)Jesus answered, “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will build it again.”
“Are you to build it again in three days?” they asked Him. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple!”
But he Temple Jesus was speaking about was his body. So when He was raised from death, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and what Jesus had said.St Paul tells us that each one of us is also a temple of God. (1 Corinthians 3:16) Surely you know that you are God's temple and that the holy Spirit lives in you! Then St Peter tell us in: (1 Peter 2:5)Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple(the Church), where you will serve as holy priests to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ. In this passage of the Book of Ezequiel the Waters of Life represent the Baptism that purifies our sins ,and the sacramental graces dispense by the church, as ordered by The Lord.
The Spirit is the spring of the Living Waters that flow from the church, that river of life, that sustains us and purifies the world. The fruits are the fruit of the Spirit that, grows in the heart of the saints (the followers of Christ).Seguramente has escuchado o leído retos que niegan que la Iglesia es la interprete y guardián de las enseñanzas de Cristo, eso por parte de misioneros de otras iglesias que andan de casa en casa y te preguntan: estas salvo?, o por amigos o conocidos tuyos que te sugieren que ignores las enseñanzas de la Iglesia; o por una cultura que te susurra : “Dios no existe.”
Tu no puedes enfrentar estos retos, a menos que conozcas muy bien tu catequesis y las bases de nuestra religión.
(Juan 7:14) Cuando ya había pasado la mitad de la fiesta, subió Jesús al templo y enseñaba. Entonces los judíos se asombraban diciendo: --¿Cómo sabe éste de letras, sin haber estudiado?
Por tanto, Jesús les respondió y dijo: --Mi doctrina no es mía, sino de aquel que me envió. El que haga la voluntad de Dios, conocerá si mi doctrina proviene de Dios o, si yo hablo por mi propia cuenta.
El que habla de sí mismo busca su propia gloria; pero el que busca la gloria del que le envió, éste es verdadero, y en él no hay injusticia. Jesús nos dijo que su Iglesia seria la Luz del mundo, y además agrego que:
“una ciudad asentada en una colina, no puede ser ocultada” (Mateo 5:14). Es decir que la Iglesia es una organización visible, y que se relaciona con la comunidad, además tiene características únicas que la distinguen de todas las otras iglesias. Jesús hizo la promesa de:
(Mateo 16:18)... “sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia y las fuerzas del infierno no prevalecerá contra ella.”En otras palabras, su Iglesia no desaparecerá, ni se apartará de El hasta su regreso. La línea de Papas puede ser rastreada sin interrupción hasta el primer papa que fue San Pedro; algo que no es igualado por ninguna otra institución en la historia humana.
Aun el gobierno mas antiguo, es nuevo, comparado con la Iglesia, que ha existido por mas de 2000 años a pesar de gran opocision por parte del mundo. Esto es testimonio del origen divino de esta sagrada institución, que trasciende lo humano, a pesar que muchos de sus líderes han sido erráticos, corruptos y hasta herejes.
La Iglesia Católica es una, santa, católica y apostólica.
You may have heard challenges to the Catholic Church's claim to be the interpreter and safeguard of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Such challenges come from door-to-door missionaries who ask, “Are you saved?”, from peer pressure that urges you to ignore the Church's teachings, from a secular culture that whispers “there is no God.”
You can't deal with these challenges unless you understand the basics of the Catholic faith. (John 7:14) The festival was nearly half over when Jesus went to the temple and began teaching. The Jewish authorities were greatly surprised and said, “How does this man know so much when He never went to school?”
Jesus answered, “What I teach is not my own teaching, but it comes from God, who sent me. Whoever is willing to do what God wants will know whether what I teach comes from God or whether I speak on my own authority.
A person who speaks on his own authority is trying to gain glory for himself. But he who wants glory for the One who sent him is honest, and there is nothing false in him.” Jesus said his Church would be “the light of the world.” He then noted that “a city set on a hill cannot be hid” (Matt. 5:14) This means that the Church is a visible organization. It must have characteristics that clearly identify it and that distinguish it from other churches. Jesus promised, “I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from Him. His church will survive until his return.
The line of popes could be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself. This is unequaled by any institution in history. Even the oldest government is new compared to the papacy. The Catholic Church has existed for nearly 2000 years, despite constant opposition from the world.
This is testimony to the Church's divine origin. It must be more than a merely human organization, especially considering that its human members—even some of its leaders—have been unwise, corrupt, or prone to heresy.
The Catholic Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.La Iglesia es una.
(Romanos 12:4)
Porque de la manera que en un solo cuerpo tenemos muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros no tienen la misma función;
así nosotros, siendo muchos, somos un solo cuerpo en Cristo, pero todos somos miembros los unos de los otros. Jesucristo estableció solo una iglesia, y no una colección de iglesias, como Luterana, Anglicana, Pentecostal, etc.
(1 Corintios 10:14) Por tanto, amados míos, huid de la idolatría.
Como a sensatos os hablo; juzgad vosotros lo que digo.
La copa de bendición que bendecimos, ¿no es la comunión de la sangre de Cristo? El pan que partimos, ¿no es la comunión del cuerpo de Cristo?
Puesto que el pan es uno solo, nosotros, siendo muchos, somos un solo cuerpo; pues todos participamos de un solo pan.Las Escrituras dicen que la Iglesia es la Novia de Cristo.
( Efesios 5:31) Por esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre y se unirá a su mujer, y serán los dos una sola carne.
Grande es este misterio, pero lo digo respecto de Cristo y de la iglesia.
Por tanto, cada uno de vosotros ame a su esposa como a sí mismo, y la esposa respete a su esposo.Jesús solo puede tener una esposa, y esa esposa es la Iglesia Católica. Su iglesia además enseña un solo conjunto de doctrinas, las cuales también fueron las enseñadas por los primeros apóstoles o padres de la Iglesia.
(Judas 1:1)
Amados, mientras me esforzaba por escribiros acerca de nuestra común salvación, me ha sido necesario escribir para exhortaros a que contendáis eficazmente por la fe que fue entregada una vez a los santos.
Estas son el conjunto de verdades que tenemos que creer, y que nos indica la Escritura.(Filipenses 1:26; 2:2)
Solamente procurad que vuestra conducta como ciudadanos sea digna del evangelio de Cristo, de manera que sea que yo vaya a veros o que esté ausente, oiga acerca de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, combatiendo juntos y unánimes por la fe del evangelio,
...(2:1) Por tanto, si hay algún aliento en Cristo; si hay algún incentivo en el amor; si hay alguna comunión en el Espíritu; si hay algún afecto profundo y alguna compasión,
completad mi gozo a fin de que penséis de la misma manera, teniendo el mismo amor, unánimes, pensando en una misma cosa.Aunque algunos 'católicos' no cumplen o aceptan todas las doctrinas oficialmente anunciadas por la Iglesia; tanto los obispos a como el Papa junto con ellos, nunca han cambiado ninguna de las doctrinas; con el tiempo las doctrinas son examinadas muy minuciosamente y entendidas de forma mas completa y profunda (Juan 16:12-13); pero nunca llegan a decir lo opuesto que alguna vez nos enseñaron.
The Church is One. (Romans 12:3)
And because of God's gracious gift to me I say to very one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you should. Instead, be modest in your thinking, and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you.
We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. Jesus established only one Church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on).(1 Corinthians 10:14) So then, my dear friends, keep away from the worship of idols. I speak to you as sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup we use in the Lord's Supper and for which we give thanks to God': when we drink from it, we are sharing in the blood of Christ. And the bread we break; when we eat it, we are sharing in the body of Christ. Because there is the one loaf of bread, all of us, though many, are one body, for we all share the same loaf. The Bible says the Church is the bride of Christ. (Ephesians 5:31) As the Scripture says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one.” There is a deep secret truth revealed in this scripture, which I understand as applying to Christ and the church. But it also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, and every wife must respect her husband.Jesus can but have one spouse, and his spouse is the Catholic Church . His Church also teaches just one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by the apostles. (Jude 1:2)
My dear friends, I was doing my best to write to you about the salvation we share in common, when I felt the need of writing at once to encourage you to fight on for the faith which once and for all God has given to his people This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us. (Phil. 1:26; 2:2)...so that when I am with you again, you will have even more reason to be proud of me in your life in union with Christ Jesus.
Now, the important thing is that your way of life should be as the gospel of Christ requires, so that, whether or not I am able to go and see you, I will hear that you are standing firm with one common purpose and that with only one desire you are fighting together for the faith of the gospel.
(2:1)...Your life in Christ makes you strong , and his love comforts you. You have fellowship with the Spirit, and you have kindness and compassion for one another.
I urge you, then, to make me completely happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and being one in soul and mind. Although some Catholics dissent from officially taught doctrines, the Church's official teachers—the pope and the bishops united with him-- have never changed any doctrine. Over the centuries, as doctrines are examined more fully, the Church comes to understand them more deeply ( John 16:12-13), but it never understand them to mean the opposite of what they once meant.La Iglesia es Santa.Por medio de su Gracia, Jesús hace santa a la Iglesia, así como El es santo. Esto no quiere decir que todos los miembros de la Iglesia son santos, el Señor nos dijo que habrían buenos y malos miembros en su Iglesia.
(Juan 6:70) Jesús respondió: “Yo mismo los elegí a ustedes, los Doce. Y, sin embargo, uno de ustedes es un diablo.”Y no todos los miembros de la Iglesia nos iremos al cielo, aunque todos debemos de cumplir con las pocas demandas de Dios, para hacernos santos.
(Mateo 7:21-23) “No todo el que me dice Señor, Señor! Entrara al Reino de los Cielos, mas sí, todo aquel que cumpla con la voluntad de mi Padre Celestial. Muchos me dirán en aquel día, 'Señor Señor, que no hemos profetizado en tu Nombre, y también hemos expulsado demonios, y realizado muchos milagros?' Yo simplemente les diré: “nunca los he conocido, apártense de mi malvados!”Mas la Iglesia es santa porque es fuente de santidad y guardián de los medios especiales de gracia, que Jesús estableció, es decir: los sacramentos.
(Efesios 5:26) “Esposos amen a sus esposas, así como Cristo amó a su Iglesia y se entregó por ella, la bañó y la santificó en la palabra, mediante el bautismo del agua. Porque, si bien es cierto, deseaba una Iglesia espléndida, sin mancha ni arruga ni nada parecido, sino santa e inmaculada, El mismo debía prepararla y presentársela.”Nuestro deber es permitir que la gracia de Dios moldee nuestro corazón. Asi como el joven Moises, que en un momento de ímpetu mató a un egipcio. Pero despues Dios le habló desde la zarza ardiendo, y a pesar de su renuencia, llegó a ser el patriarca y profeta que llevó a los hebreos a la Tierra Prometida.
Saulo de Tarso era un fanático fariseo que perseguia a los cristianos, hasta que se encontró con Jesus en el camino a Damasco; y fue transformado en un devoto seguidor de Cristo y pasó a ser: Pablo, el apóstol de los Gentiles.
Nunca olvidemos que Dios es infinitamente justo y misericordioso,y que todos nosotros podemos ser instrumentos en las manos de Dios; ábre tu corazón hermana/o, y comienza invitando a tus familiares y amigos a que por lo menos lean este blog, porque de esa forma estarás envagelizando y cooperando con la misión apostólica de la Iglesia.
The Church is Holy. By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as He is holy. This doesn't mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church--- (John 6:70)"I chose the twelve of you, didn't I? Yet one of you is a devil."--, and not all the members would go to heaven ( Matt.7:21-23) “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' But the Church itself is holy because it is the source o holiness and is the guardian of the special means of grace Jesus established, the sacraments.
( Ephesians 5:26) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself a as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”Our job is to surrender and let the grace of God work in our hearts. Scripture shows us many examples of those who did exactly that. As a young man, Moses acted impetuously and killed an Egyptian. Then God spoke to him from the burning bush, and in spite of his reluctance, he became a patriarch and prophet who led his people to the Promised Land.
Saul of Tarsus was a fanatical Pharisee who hunted down Christians until he met Jesus on the Damascus road and became one of his most devoted followers, also known as: Paul the apostle of the Gentiles.La Iglesia es Católica.
(Mateo28:18 ) Por tanto, id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándoles en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo,
y enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os he mandado. Y he aquí, yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo." (Apocalipsis 5:9)

Tú los has constituido en un reino y sacerdotes para nuestro Dios, y reinarán sobre la tierra."La Iglesia es llamada “Católica” (del Griego “universal”) porque es el regalo del Señor a la gente de toda la tierra, y el dió la orden a sus apóstoles de ir por toda la tierra y hacer discípulos de “todas las naciones.”
La Iglesia que Cristo fundó, fue conocida como la “Iglesia Católica” tan temprano como en el ano 107, a como lo indican los escritos de Ignacio de Antioquía. Ese título seguramente ya era viejo en la época de San Ignacio lo que podría indicar que quizás, a la Iglesia ya se le conocía como “Iglesia Católica” en tiempos de los apóstoles.
The Church is Catholic.( Matthew 28:18) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Revelation 5:9) And they sang a new song:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
Because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and
people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and
priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”Jesus' Church is called catholic (“universal” in Greek) because it is His gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of “all nations”.
For over 2000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that He wants all of us to be members of his universal family.(Galatians 3:28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Nowdays the Catholic Church is found in every country of the world and is still sending out missionaries to “make disciples of all nations.”
The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, “the Catholic Church,” at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title do describe the one Church Jesus founded. The title apparently was old in Ignatius's time, which means it probably went all the way back to the time of the apostles.
The Church is Apostolic(Ephesians 2:19) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.The Church Jesus founded is apostolic because He appointed the apostles to be the first leaders of the Church, and their successors were to be its futures leaders. The apostles were the first bishops, and, since the first century, there has been an unbroken line of Catholic bishops faithfully handing on what the apostles taught the first Christians in Scripture and oral Tradition.
( 2 Timothy 2:1)As for you, my son, be strong through the grace that is ours in union with Christ Jesus. Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also.
These beliefs include the bodily Resurrection of Jesus, the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, the sacrificial nature of the Mass, the forgiveness of sins through a priest, baptismal regeneration, the existence of purgatory, Mary's special role, and much more—even the doctrine of apostolic succession itself.
Early Christian writings prove the first Christians were thoroughly Catholic in belief and practice and looked to the successors of the apostles as their leaders. What these first Christians believed is still believed by the Catholic Church . No other church can make this claim.La Iglesia es Apostólica.(Efesios 2:19) Por lo tanto, ya no sois extranjeros ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y miembros de la familia de Dios.
Habéis sido edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y de los profetas, siendo Jesucristo mismo la piedra angular.
En él todo el edificio, bien ensamblado, va creciendo hasta ser un templo santo en el Señor.
En él también vosotros sois juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.La Iglesia que Cristo fundó es apostólica, por que El mismo denominó a los apóstoles como sus primeros líderes, y sus sucesores serian después nombrados como líderes. Los apóstoles fueron los primeros obispos, y desde el comienzo ha habido una cadena sin ruptura de obispos Católicos que han continuado enseñando, la doctrina que los apóstoles enseñaron desde el comienzo por medio de la Escritura y la Tradición.
(2 Timoty 2:1) “Tú pues, hijo mío, fortalécete en la gracia que es en Cristo Jesús.
Lo que oíste de parte mía mediante muchos testigos,(fijense que hace hincapie en que él ha enseñado a Timoteo, y no que Timoteo leyó, sino, que es por medio de la tradición.) ésto confíalo a hombres fieles que sean idóneos para enseñar también a otros.”Estas enseñanzas incluyen la Resurrección del Señor, la presencia real en la Eucaristía, el sacrificio de la Misa, perdón de los pecados al confesarse con un sacerdote, la regeneración bautismal, el purgatorio, los dogmas Marianos y muchos mas;--aun la sucesión apostólica misma.
Escritos muy antiguos nos demuestran que los primeros Cristianos eran Católicos en creencia y práctica, y que veían a los sucesores de los apóstoles, como sus lideres. Lo que creyeron los primeros Católicos es aun hoy creído por la Iglesia, y ésto es algo que ninguna otra Iglesia puede declarar y probar.
Que Dios Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo los bendiga en abundancia!
