Desde hace un tiempo había evitado escribir este artículo, mas el otro día tuve un intercambio de ideas con un Testigo de Jehova (a quienes de ahora en adelante designaré como TJ's), ese intercambio me impulsó a abordar el caso de los TJ's y he aquí lo siguiente.

( 1 Tesalonicenses 5:21) Examinadlo todo y quedaos con lo bueno.
San Pablo nos recomienda reconocer en otros, todo lo que es bueno después de haber sido examinado, ya sea su forma de pensar, sus métodos, comportamiento, etc. y creo
que esa es la forma de proceder de nosotros los Católicos, pues es siempre sabio darle honor a quien honor merece. Les cuento que si hay algo que reconozco a muchos protestantes, es su dedicación en leer y estudiar la Biblia.

Para muchos de los Católicos la ultima vez que recibimos instrucción en nuestra doctrina y la Palabra de Dios, fue el ultimo día de nuestra clase de Catecismo (cuando quizás teníamos entre 7 y 13 años) días antes de nuestra “Primera Comunión”. Eso es todo una tragedia, es algo que debe ser corregido inmediatamente, y ruego porque los obispos Católicos, consideren en mantener clases permanentes de Biblia por lo menos dos días en la semana, una clase por la mañana y otra al anochecer para los que trabajan; de esa forma podríamos incrementar nuestra fe y el conocimiento de la Sagrada Escritura, lo que nos haría mejores Católicos con una base sólida en la fe.

A como dice los Americanos: “Es algo terrible el desperdiciar la mente de cualquier persona.” ("A mind is a terrible thing to waste.") Podríamos aplicar ese principio a nuestra formación religiosa, si no cultivamos nuestro espíritu con la verdadera doctrina de Cristo, entonces lo embutiremos con basura y toda clase de malos pensamientos, seremos presa fácil de cualquier filosofía humanista y de falsas doctrinas; quizás sea por eso que el Señor pasó la mayor parte de su ministerio aquí en la tierra, predicando la Palabra de Dios y dándonos ejemplos prácticos, como las “parábolas”; fue por eso que antes de subir al cielo, le dio a su Iglesia la instrucción mas importante, que es la misión de la Iglesia:

(Mateo 28:16) Por su parte, los once discípulos marcharon a Galilea, al monte que Jesús les había indicado. Y al verle le adoraron; algunos sin embargo dudaron. Jesús se acercó a ellos y les habló así: Me ha sido dado todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra. Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todas las gentes bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que yo os he mandado. Y he aquí que yo estoy con vosotros todos los días hasta el fin del mundo.

Sabemos que la Sagrada Eucaristía es el alimento espiritual por excelencia, es el alimento de hombres y de ángeles, pero debibo a nuestra naturaleza dual que es física y espiritual, necesitamos alimentar nuestra mente a la vez que nuestro espíritu, no sólo con la Sagrada Eucaristía, sino también con la Palabra de Dios; recordemos lo que nos dijo nuestro Señor a nosotros, y al diablo en:

(Mateo 4:1) Entonces Jesús fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto para ser tentado por el diablo.
Y después de hacer un ayuno de cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, al fin sintió hambre. Y acercándose el tentador, le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se conviertan en panes.
Mas él respondió: “Está escrito: No sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.”

Si no leemos y estudiamos la Escritura todos los días o por lo menos una o dos veces por semana, sufriremos de malnutrición espiritual; de la misma forma que nuestro cuerpo necesita de minerales, vitaminas, proteínas, carbohidratos y toda clase de alimentos para estar fuertes y sanos, para poder resistir los virus, bacterias y
enfermedades; logramos mantenernos sanos por medio de una dieta balanceada, ingiriendo frutas, vegetales, carnes de diferente tipo y suplementos vitaminados, ademas de hacer ejercicio.

(Ezequiel 37:1) La mano de Yavé fue sobre mí y, por su espíritu, Yavé me sacó y me puso en medio de la vega, la cual estaba llena de huesos.
Me hizo pasar por entre ellos en todas las direcciones. Los huesos eran muy numerosos por el suelo de la vega, y estaban completamente secos.
Me dijo: Hijo de hombre, ¿podrán vivir estos huesos? Yo dije: Señor Yavé, tú lo sabes. Entonces me dijo: Profetiza sobre estos huesos. Les dirás: Huesos secos, escuchad la palabra de Yavé.

Así dice el Señor Yavé a estos huesos: He aquí que yo voy a hacer entrar el espíritu en vosotros, y viviréis. Os cubriré de nervios, haré crecer sobre vosotros la carne, os cubriré de piel, os infundiré espíritu y viviréis; y sabréis que yo soy Yavé. Yo profeticé como se me había ordenado, y mientras yo profetizaba se produjo un ruido. Hubo un estremecimiento, y los huesos se juntaron unos con otros.

Miré y vi que estaban recubiertos de nervios, la carne salía y la piel se extendía por encima, pero no había espíritu en ellos.
El me dijo: Profetiza al espíritu, profetiza, hijo de hombre. Dirás al espíritu: Así dice el Señor Yavé: Ven, espíritu, de los cuatro vientos, y sopla sobre estos muertos para que vivan.
Yo profeticé como se me había ordenado, y el espíritu entró en ellos; revivieron y se incorporaron sobre sus pies: era un enorme, inmenso ejército.

Entonces me dijo: Hijo de hombre, estos huesos son toda la casa de Israel. Ellos andan diciendo: Se han secado nuestros huesos, se ha desvanecido nuestra esperanza, todo ha acabado para nosotros.
Por eso, profetiza. Les dirás: Así dice el Señor Yavé: He aquí que yo abro vuestras tumbas; os haré salir de vuestras tumbas, pueblo mío, y os llevaré de nuevo al suelo de Israel.

Sabréis que yo soy Yavé cuando abra vuestras tumbas y os haga salir de vuestras tumbas, pueblo mío. Infundiré mi espíritu en vosotros y viviréis; os estableceré en vuestro suelo, y sabréis que yo, Yavé, lo digo y lo hago, oráculo de Yavéh.

No podemos vivir espiritualmente saludables sin la palabra de Dios; El Señor por medio del profeta Ezequiel nos ha dado una tremenda lección sobre el poder de la Palabra de Dios, fíjense como en la historia que nos cuenta arriba, primero los huesos se juntaron, después se cubrieron de nervios y de carne, ya al final se llenaron del Espíritu de Dios, todo por medio de la predicación del profeta.

A como ya he dicho en otras ocasiones, este es un blog de catequesis para adultos, no quiero decir que sus niños no puedan visitar este blog, pero me gustaría que inviten a sus familiares y amigos a que participen con nosotros en estas discusiones, y los animo a que uds. mismos formen su club de lectores de la Biblia en su Iglesia, siempre con la ayuda, permiso y asistencia de su párroco.

Quizás se pregunten, y que tiene que ver el grupo de los TJ's con nuestro tópico de hoy? Bueno, para comenzar, los TJ's son la denominación que crece con mas rapidez que cualquier otra secta hoy en en día en nuestro país; seguidos por los Mormones y otras iglesias Pentecostales. Este blog no trata de ganar nuevos convertidos o de hacer cambiar a nadie de religión, no, este blog es por el bien de la Iglesia Católica, sus feligreses y por el amor a Dios.

Mi razón es la de incentivarlos a que sigan creciendo en la fe, animarlos a que lean su Biblia y a conocer mejor nuestra doctrina Católica, si desean hacer cualquier comentario, por favor siéntase libres y háganlos, encontraran la sección de comentarios después de la “Sección en Inglés” al final de cada artículo, simplemente den su primer nombre o seudónimo, sean breves y respetuosos, gracias.

En un debate entre un TJ con un Católico, lo mas probable es que el TJ estará mejor preparado/a de los dos; y porqué es eso? Lo mas probable es que el TJ ha pasado tiempo estudiando y aprendiendo sobre sus creencias, y el Católico quizás en toda su vida nunca ha leído ni siquiera una letra de la Biblia; por supuesto que eso no quiere decir que el TJ estará en lo correcto, simplemente quiere decir que estará mejor preparado/a que cualquier otra persona sin ninguna previa preparación .

Para comenzar, los TJ's utilizan una versión adulterada de la Biblia, la cual ellos llaman en Español “La Biblia del Nuevo Mundo”, esa versión de la Biblia no es aceptada por ninguna de las otras iglesias Cristianas (a como ellos les gusta llamarse), ni mucho menos por la Iglesia Católica, y porqué de eso? Los TJ's ( La Sociedad del Atalaya) no pueden mostrar los manuscritos que usaron para escribir “su Biblia”, y quizás sea porque en realidad no existen.

Obviamente hicieron lo mismo que Martín Lutero cuando tradujo la Biblia al Alemán, él simplemente se copió de la Biblia Católica que tenia, le hizo un par de cambios caprichosos, y ya! apareció con la versión de la “Biblia de Martín Lutero” en Alemán, y que por cierto hoy nadie usa.

El equipo de hombres que escribieron la “Biblia traduccion Del Nuevo Mundo” de los TJ's estaba compuesto por Frederick Franz quien tomó un curso de artes en la Universidad de Cincinnati, sin embargo a pesar de que había estudiado un poco de Latín y Griego moderno, no tuvo preparación profesional en Hebreo o Arameo.
George Henschel, Karl Klein y Nathan Knorr ninguno de ellos tenia conocimiento de los lenguajes bíblicos ni tampoco un diploma de secundaria.
Albert Schroeder, no terminó sus estudio en Ingeniería Mecánica; tampoco sabia de lenguajes bíblicos o de teología.

Desde 1950 que fue cuando los TJ's publicaron por primera vez “su Biblia” le hicieron algunos cambios hasta 1984; siempre han mantenido un “secretismo” de cómo llegaron a salir con su versión pero ahora ya también uds. saben quien compuso el equipo de “expertos” de la traducción de la “Biblia traduccion del Nuevo Mundo” . Y porqué tanta atención a esta “Biblia”? Pues porque tiene muchos cambios echos a la medida para documentar sus creencias y doctrina muy peculiar, la cual usan para desorientar a los incautos con poco conocimiento de la Biblia, y reclutarlos a su grupo.

(2 Pedro 2:1)Hubo también en el pueblo falsos profetas, como habrá entre vosotros falsos maestros que introducirán herejías perniciosas y que, negando al Dueño que los adquirió, atraerán sobre sí una rápida destrucción.

El fundador de la secta de los TJ's es Charles Taze Russell (CT Russell) quien fundó un grupo de estudios bíblicos en 1872, después en 1931 paso a ser “Los Testigos de Jehova”; CT Russell creció siendo un Presbiteriano, después se pasó a los Congregasionalistas, mas tarde se declaró agnóstico pues el no creía en que haya un infierno; regresó a unirse a los Adventistas en donde tomó las semillas para formar su grupo conocido ahora como los TJ's. Charles Russell hizo muchas predicciones que jamas se cumplieron (él daba el año preciso cuando sus predicciones sucederían, pero falló en todas ellas), de ahí que las otras iglesias protestantes lo llaman un falso profeta.

Esto es solo una breve introducción para familiarizarlos con el origen de los TJ's, hay mucho mas que contar, pero, no es mi interés el desenmascarar una falsa religión, lo que sí me interesa, es que uds. se animen a leer la Biblia y el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, para que estén bien informados, ya que una vez se hayan educado en la fe, cualquier mentira, falsedad o la oscuridad de cualquier otra secta o grupo religioso no tendrá efecto sobre uds.; su educación,convicción y fe serán basados sobre la Roca, que es Cristo el Señor, y la Palabra de Dios.

Cual es uno de los mayores problemas con las creencias de los TJ's?

Ademas de que usan una biblia adulterada, los TJ's niegan que Cristo es Dios, por lo tanto no son un grupo Cristiano, aun cuando hoy en día tienden a incluir pasajes de los Evangelios en sus revistas, La Atalaya y Despertad, incluyendo las palabras de Cristo en sus artículos, si prestan atención, verán que citan al Señor, no como Dios, sino como un buen filósofo, al igual que citar a Sócrates, Voltaire o cualquier otro, lo hacen ademas como mampara, pues se refieren a Jesús como un dios, en letra pequeña.

En la “Biblia traducción del Nuevo Mundo” leemos: (Juan 1:1) “En el comienzo era la Palabra, y la Palabra estaba con Dios, y la Palabra era un dios.”
Si prestan atención, notaran que dice: “y la Palabra era un dios.” Ahora si leen cualquier otra versión Protestante o Católica, leerán por ejemplo en la versión Protestante de King James: Al principio era la Palabra (Verbo), y la Palabra estaba con Dios, y la Palabra era Dios. Obviamente los TJ's hicieron el cambio de palabras, para negar la eterna divinidad de Cristo siguiendo las enseñanzas de Arios quien cerca de los años 300's DC negó la divinidad de Cristo y su igualdad (homoousia) con el Padre.

Porque los TJ's no celebran los cumpleaños?

En (Génesis 40:20) y en (Mateo 14:6) se nos relatan los cumpleaños del Faraón y Herodes respectivamente, se nos dice primero que el Faraón mandó a matar al jefe de sus panaderos, y que Herodes, decapitó a Juan el Bautista a petición de la hija de Herodias; sin embargo, ni el Faraón ni Herodes cometieron sus malas acciones movidos por la celebración misma, sino porque tenían el corazón malo, los dos estaban ebrios de poder y lujuria.

Los TJ's deducen de esos dos incidentes bíblicos, que no debemos de celebrar cumpleaños porque cosas malas pueden suceder, y si ud. es panadero/a, pues ni se le ocurra ir a fiestas de cumpleaños pues, le pueden “cortar la gallina” (la cabeza para los que no son nicas), esto es pura superstición, al igual que los que no pasan bajo una escalera, o los que se asustan si se les atraviesa un gato negro en el camino, ¿qué pasó mis queridos TJ's? ¿Acaso creen en el poder de tonterias o creen en el poder de Jehova?

Si Dios el Señor quiere prohibirnos algo, lo haría bien claro, a como pueden ver, no encontramos ninguna prohibición contra celebrar cumpleaños, ni en el libro de Levíticos que es el libro de las prohibiciones de la ley de Moisés, ni en los Diez mandamientos de la Ley de Dios, por lo tanto, ¡que venga la orquesta!

No hay nada malo en tener una fiesta, los que es malo es cometer pecados de cualquier clase, ya sea en una fiesta o en cualquier lugar o a cualquier hora; cuando celebramos un cumpleaños lo hacemos en el espíritu de hermandad y de alegría, mucha personas hasta tienen servicios religiosos de acción de gracias hacia Dios (Te Deum) pues el regalo de la vida es razón suficiente de agradecimiento y de felicidad.

(Lucas 2:8)Había en la misma comarca unos pastores, que dormían al raso y vigilaban por turno durante la noche su rebaño. Se les presentó el Angel del Señor, y la gloria del Señor los envolvió en su luz; y se llenaron de temor. El ángel les dijo: No temáis, pues os anuncio una gran alegría, que lo será para todo el pueblo: os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un salvador, que es el Cristo y Señor; y esto os servirá de señal: encontraréis un niño envuelto en pañales y acostado en un pesebre.

Y de pronto se juntó con el ángel una multitud del ejército celestial, que alababa a Dios, diciendo:
Gloria a Dios en las alturas y en la tierra paz a los hombres en quienes él se complace.
Y sucedió que cuando los ángeles, dejándoles, se fueron al cielo, los pastores se decían unos a otros: Vayamos, pues, hasta Belén y veamos lo que ha sucedido y el Señor nos ha manifestado.

Y fueron a toda prisa, y encontraron a María y a José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.
Al verlo, dieron a conocer lo que les habían dicho acerca de aquel niño; y todos los que lo oyeron se maravillaban de lo que los pastores les decían.

María, por su parte, guardaba todas estas cosas, y las meditaba en su corazón. Los pastores se volvieron glorificando y alabando a Dios por todo lo que habían oído y visto, conforme a lo que se les había dicho.

Existen diferentes formas de celebrar una ocación feliz, vemos aquí que los ángeles del Señor aparecieron a celebrar el nacimiento de Jesús el Dios Hombre; después de ir a visitar al niño en el pesebre, los pastores regresaron glorificando y alabando a Dios, por el motivo del nacimiento del Salvador del mundo, hecho que el primer ángel llamó: “Causa de gran alegría” que es lo que sentimos cuando celebramos un cumpleaños o fecha de nacimiento de un ser querido nuestro, ademas vemos como al primer ángel, se le agregaron muchos ángeles más, no para llorar o poner caras tristes, sino para cantar alegres himnos a Dios; hoy después de más de 2000 años celebramos de una forma diferente nuestra alegría y júbilo, hoy lo hacemos con una tremenda “pachanga”.

For some time I've avoided to write this article, but, the other day I had an exchange of ideas with a JW (Jehovah Witness) missionary , that compelled me to go ahead and tackle the issue of the JW's sect.

(1 Thessalonians 5:21) Test everything. Hold on to the good. St. Paul advices us to recognize whatever good we see in others, or the way other people think or behave; that is definitely the way we Catholics conduct our businesses, and give honor to whom honor is due.
I confess that I admire the dedication and diligence of many protestants in reading and studying the Scriptures.

For many of us Catholics, the last time we were educated in our Catholic doctrine and the Word of God, was the last day of our Catechism class (we probably were between 7 and 13 years old), right before our “First Communion”. That is really a tragedy, it is something that needs to be corrected immediately, and I pray and hope that the bishops of the Catholic Church, will consider to have a permanent “Bible Class” in every church at least four times a week, all that is needed is classes two days a week, one in the morning and one in the evening to accommodate the people that work during the day; that way, we would increase our faith and knowledge of the Scripture, which will help us to become better Catholics with a solid foundation in the faith.

As the Americans say: “I mind is a terrible thing to waste.” I think the wisdom of that saying could be apply to our religious formation, if we don't cultivate our spirit and feed it with sound doctrine, then, it will be fed with garbage and all sort of wrong thinking, pron to be sway easily by any other false doctrine or humanistic philosophy; maybe that's why our Lord spent most of his time during his ministry here on earth, preaching the Word of God and giving us examples (the parables) that could be apply to our daily lives; before departing back to heaven, He gave the Church his most important instruction, which is the mission of the Church:

(Matt. 28:16) Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Holy Eucharist is the quintessential bread of Life, it is the food of men and angels, but, because of our dual nature which is physical and spiritual, we need to feed our brains and spirit not only with the Holy Eucharist of the Bread and the Wine, but, also with the Word of God; let's remember what our Lord told us, and the devil in:

(Matt. 4:1) Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

If we don't read and study the Scripture daily or at least once or twice a week, we are spiritually malnourished; the same way our physical body becomes weak when we don't consume the right amount of minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, aminoacids, proteins etc.; by not having a balance diet, and exercise, we are pron to get easily sick or affected by virus and bacterias of any kind. We must have a balanced diet by eating fruits and vegetables, meats of different kind and take our vitamins and minerals everyday, otherwise we won't be physically healthy and strong.

(Ezekiel 37:1) The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”

The Word of God is something that we can not live without; The Lord through the prophet Ezekiel gives us a tremendous lesson on how powerful the Word of God is, notice how in the previous story, first the bones start to move, then take life and finally are filled with the Spirit of God, all this happened because of the “preaching” of the prophet.

I have said before that this is a website of “catechesis for adults” and I really mean it, that doesn't mean that you could not have your children reading the articles published here, I would also like you to invite all your friends and family members to participate in this blog, I encourage you to form your own Bible study group in your parish, with the assistance, consent and blessing of your priest.

By now you might be wondering what do the JW's have to do with today's topic? Well, for one thing the JW's are the denomination that is growing faster than any other non-Catholic group in our country; followed closely by the Mormons and the Petacostal denominations.

I don't write this blog to make or gain any converts, absolutely not, this blog is for the good of all the Catholic people, for our Church and for the love of God; my goal is to give you some incentive to continue growing in the faith, to entice you to read the Bible, to know better our Catholic doctrine, if you want to make any comments, please feel free to do so, you'll find the comments section at the end of the English section of every article, please just say your first name or pseudonym be polite and brief, thank you.

If there was a debate between a JW believer and a Catholic faithful, must likely the JW individual will be better prepare in what he/she is going to say or talk about; and why is that? Well, the JW member has spent time, studying and learning their believes, and the Catholic person probably has never read one word of the Bible in his/her entire life; but of course, that doesn't mean that the JW person is right, it only means he/she is better prepared than someone who hasn't had any preparation at all.

For starters the JW's use their own adulterated version of the Bible, which is called “The New World Bible”, that Bible is not accepted by any other of the so called “Christian churches” not to mention the Catholic Church, and why is that? The JW's can not produce (show) the manuscripts, that they used to write or compile “their Bible version”, and maybe it is because they don't exist. They obviously did what Martin Luther did when he translated the Bible to German, he just merely copied the Catholic Bible that he had, made a couple of capricious changes here and there and, just like that, came out with the Martin Luther Bible version in German.

The people who came out with the “JW's Bible” are: Frederick Franz who had some knowledge of Modern Greek and Latin; no formal training in Aramaic or Hebrew; studied liberal arts at the University of Cincinnati, at one time, he could not translate a Hebrew document into English.
George Gangas, a Turkish national who would translate modern Greek for the Watch Tower magazine, had no biblical languages training.
Milton Henschel, Karl Klein and Nathan Knorr had no training in biblical languages or theology.
Albert Schroeder, was a drop out student of mechanical engineering. No training in theology or biblical languages.

Since 1950 when the JW's first published their Bible, have made several revisions until 1984; they have been very secretive on the identity of their translation committee, but, there's no secret on earth and the identities of the translation committee is now well known, as you can see. Why the fuss with the JW's Bible version? well, they have made many changes, costume made to adapt the Scripture to support their peculiar and odd believes.

(2 Peter 2:1)But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.


The founder of the JW denomination is Charles Taze Russell (CT Russell) who grew up been a Presbyterian, then went to the Congregational church, from there to gnosticism, since he had a problem with the existence of hell; then to the Adventist church where he got the seeds for his own denominational group, the JW's; CT Russell made many predictions that never happened or became truth, because of that, many of the Protestant churches consider him to be a false prophet.

This is only a brief introduction to familiarize you with the JW's origin, there's a lot more, but, I'm not interested in unmasking a cult, I'm more interested, in encouraging you to read the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, so you become a well informed believer, because once you are educated, the darkness or lies of any other group, will have no effect on you; you'll have your convictions strong and firm resting on the Rock, which is Christ the Lord and his Holy Word.

What is one of the major problems with the JW's?

The JW's denied that Christ is God, because of that, they are not a Christian church, even though now they tend to include Gospel passages and sayings of the Lord in their magazines, but, if you pay close attention, they do it as if Jesus was just a wise man, or to cover up the fact that they consider Him to be just a god, in small letter. We read in their NW Bible translation: (John 1:1) In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.

If you pay attention you can see they wrote: “the Word was a god.” Now if you read any protestant version of the Bible or the Catholic Bible, it would read for example as in the King James version: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
They obviously made the changes, just to deny the divinity of Christ, following the teachings of Arius, whom around the years 300's ac. denied the eternal divinity of Christ and his equality (homoousia) with the Father.

Why don't the JW's celebrate 'birthdays'?

In (Genesis 40:20-22) , and (Matthew 14:6-10). We have Pharaoh and Herod celebrating their birthdays, and happened that each one of them committed a cruel act on that day. Pharaoh ordered to kill his chief baker on his birthday and Herod decapitated John the Baptist by the request of the daughter of Herodias.
Neither Pharaoh or Herode committed their sin because of the birthday celebration, but, because they were of evil heart,and were drunk with power and lust.

The JW's deduce that, because of those two accounts in Scripture, we should not celebrate birthdays or, bad things could happen, this is just pure superstition, it is the same reason why some people won't walk under a ladder, or get scared if a black cat crosses their way.
According to the JW's, if you are a baker, be careful not to attend birthday celebrations, or you might get your head "chopped off", ouch!

Really, if God wanted to prohibit us something, He would make it perfectly clear, you won't find any prohibition to celebrate birthdays neither in Leviticus, which is the book of all the Mosaic prohibitions, or the Ten Commandments which is the Law of God, so, bring in the rock group.

There is nothing wrong in having a party, what is wrong is to commit sinful acts of any kind, whether it is in a party or at any time; We usually celebrate a birthday in the spirit of brotherhood and joy, many people even have religious services (Te Deum) to thank God for the gift of life, which is reason enough to be thankful and happy.

(Luke 2: 8) And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

There are different ways to celebrate a happy occasion, we can see here that the angels of God appeared to celebrate the Birthday of Jesus the God Man; then after going to the manger the shepherds go back glorifying and praising God, because of the birthday of the Savior, which the first angel labeled, “a cause of great joy”; which is what we feel when we celebrate the birthday of a loved one, the only difference is that, we more than 2000 years later, have different ways to express our joy and happiness, now we do it with a “pachanga”.

Antes de comenzar, a tu parecer cual es la mejor versión de la Biblia que podemos comprar?

Hay varias versiones que me gustan, pero la realidad es que todas tienen su pro y su contra; por ejemplo; la versión de la “Biblia Latinoamericana” es muy “diluida” a veces utilizan un lenguaje poco expresivo, o traducciones muy malas.

La “Biblia de Jerusalen” es una de las mejores, pero no, es lo máximo; si quieren tener buenos comentarios tendran que gastar plata y comprar libros de la Biblia de Navarre, que viene en tomos individuales para cada libro de la Biblia; y si es en Inglés, existen tres versiones que se complementan, a como son la NRSV, la versión de “Ignatius Bible” y la versión “Douay Rheims”.

Deberíamos en este momento, hacer un resumen de lo que hasta hoy hemos dicho en los primeros 4 capítulos de esta serie sobre el Rapto, creo que toda la evidencia Bíblica y Teológica que les he presentado, los ha convencido que el “dogma evangélico” del rapto, es nada mas que eso, un dogma creado por medio de interpretar uno o dos versículos de la Biblia, sin tomar en cuenta la unidad que existe en el contexto completo de las Escrituras, que están basadas en Cristo mismo.

Debemos de estar convencidos de que habrá un “juicio final”, pues así nos lo ha dicho el Señor, San Pablo y los otros evangelistas; nunca se ha dicho específicamente de que Cristo hará un viaje especial, sólo para llevarse con él a un montón de gente, sin antes haber sido juzgados.

Creemos los Católicos de que Cristo vendrá a llevarse con él a su Iglesia? Por supuesto que sí, eso es precisamente lo que siempre se nos ha enseñado, y de lo cual estamos seguros, los que sean puestos a la derecha del Justo Juez, irán al cielo y los que sean puestos a la izquierda, pues, no sé a dónde irán. El Señor vendrá a destruir de una vez por todas las fuerzas del mal y la muerte, y a establecer El Reino de Dios para siempre o sea el nuevo Paraíso Terrenal.

Nuestra Obligación Es Vivir Siempre Preparados Para La Llegada Del Señor

(Mateo 24:36) Por lo que se refiere a ese Día y cuándo vendrá, nadie lo sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles de Dios, ni aun el Hijo, sino solamente el Padre.
La venida del Hijo del Hombre recordará los tiempos de Noé.
Unos pocos días antes del diluvio, la gente seguía comiendo y bebiendo, y se casaban hombres y mujeres, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca.

No se dieron cuenta de nada hasta que vino el diluvio y se los llevó a todos. Lo mismo sucederá con la venida del Hijo del Hombre: de dos hombres que estén juntos en el campo, uno será tomado, y el otro no;de dos mujeres que estén juntas moliendo trigo, una será tomada, y la otra no.

Por eso estén despiertos, porque no saben en qué día vendrá su Señor.
Fíjense en esto: si un dueño de casa supiera a qué hora de la noche lo va a asaltar un ladrón, seguramente permanecería despierto para impedir el asalto a su casa.
Por eso, estén también ustedes preparados, porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá a la hora que menos esperan.

Dos hermanos pueden ser idénticos físicamente (gemelos), mas uno puede ser santo y el otro no, lo que nos identifica como hijos de Dios es lo que llevamos cada uno en el corazón; la salvación es algo que cada uno acepta individualmente y no es la responsabilidad de nadie más, la fe es un compromiso y una vida activa en amar a Dios y a nuestro prójimo; la fe no es solamente un eslogan, o decir de los dientes para fuera, “amo a Dios, creo en el Señor”; no, no, no, debemos de vivir nuestra fe y demostrarlo con nuestra conducta, y proceder personal.

Mucha gente estará atareada el día que llegue el Señor, con los quehaceres del día, pero como el Novio llegará de pronto, como un “ladrón en la noche” sorprenderá a muchos, de ahí que debemos de vivir siempre preparados , y cualquier día que llegue el Juicio Final estaremos listos; por eso, por favor arrepiéntase y confiesense hoy, de esa forma estaremos en la gracia de Dios, y seremos llevados al cielo con nuestro Redentor.

Antes de Entrar al Cielo Debemos de Ser Transformados

(1 Corintios 15:50) Les aseguro, hermanos, que lo puramente humano no puede tener parte en el Reino de Dios, ni la corrupción puede heredar lo que es incorruptible.
Les voy a revelar un misterio: No todos vamos a morir, pero todos seremos transformados.

En un instante, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, cuando suene la trompeta final ?porque esto sucederá? los muertos resucitarán incorruptibles y nosotros seremos transformados.
Lo que es corruptible debe revestirse de la incorruptibilidad y lo que es mortal debe revestirse de la inmortalidad.

Cuando lo que es corruptible se revista de la incorruptibilidad y lo que es mortal se revista de la inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra de la Escritura: La muerte ha sido vencida.
¿Dónde está, muerte, tu victoria? ¿Dónde está tu aguijón?

Antes de poder entrar al cielo, debemos de ser revestidos con gracia santificante, (por favor lean el articulo sobre la Gracia de Dios que aparece en la lista a su derecha.) a como ya dijimos antes, debemos de vivir preparados, es algo así como los soldados de un pelotón que serán lanzados desde un avión detrás de la linea del enemigo; ellos se preparan desde antes de subirse al avión, chequean su equipo, armas y su paracaídas; aunque los soldados no pueden volar, el paracaidas será lo que los provea con la habilidad para ahora saltar del avión en cualquier momento, y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos se abrirá su paracaídas, y caeran suavemente donde estaba planeado.

Para poder entrar al cielo, debemos de revestirnos con una naturaleza sobrenatural, para poder compartir la vida de Dios; esa naturaleza sobrenatural nos es proveída por la gracia santificante que hemos adquirido desde antes aquí en la tierra, cuando todavía estamos vivos, y al igual que el paracaídas del ejemplo anterior, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos nos transformará con una naturaleza celestial,o sobrenatural.

Quién Es Israel?

Hablaremos ahora de quién es Israel; si tenemos un trasfondo o información previa del origen del pueblo de Dios, nos podrá ayudar a entender mejor el papel de los Hebreos en la historia de la salvación. A como ya saben, Dios hizo una alianza con Abraham, por la cual Dios bendecería por medio de la descendencia de Abraham a todas las naciones de la tierra ---de nuevo hago hincapié de, que se dice “a todas las naciones de la tierra” y no sólo a Israel-- el Señor luego renovaría esa alianza con los hijos (descendientes) de Abraham, a como son Isaac y Jacob; si leemos las Escrituras, encontramos que Jacob era un gran manipulador, hombre truculento, pero, que amaba mucho al Señor y era inteligente.

(Génesis 32) Nos cuenta la historia de Jacob, de cómo toda una noche peleó (discutió) con un hombre misterioso que era un ángel de Dios, después ya al amanecer Jacob le dice al ángel de que lo bendiga de los contrario no lo dejaría ir; el ángel bendijo a Jacob y le dijo: “de ahora en adelante tu nombre ya no sera Jacob, sino Israel, pues has combatido con un hombre y con Dios”----Israel significa: el que lucha contra Dios---(por favor lean este relato en sus Biblias y consulten con su párroco.)

Podemos deducir del relato anterior, cómo todo creyente Cristiano puede ser un Israel, ya que pasamos toda la vida luchando contra el pecado y contra Dios; nuestra vida es una lucha continua entre el bien y el mal. Porqué les cuento esta historia? Porque quizás Israel no son sólo los Judíos o descendientes sanguíneos de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, sino, todos los Cristianos, pues en realidad todos somos descendientes de Adán y Eva, somos una sola raza humana. Y al que te diga que el hombre desciende del mono, preguntale, de que animal desciende el mono y verás que no tiene respuesta.

Encontramos en la Biblia muchos nombres que se utilizan de forma simbólica, por ejemplo: Sodoma, Babilonia, Jerusalen, Jezabel, Egipto, Sion, Israel y muchos otros que se me escapan en este momento, por eso debemos de tener cuidado y no interpretar todo al pie de la letra, lo cual es el error de muchos fundamentalistas.

El Padre jamás ha rechazado o abandonado a su pueblo Israel (los que ha sido fiel al amor de Dios y a su ley), no, mas bien les ha prometido una “nueva alianza y eterna” a como leemos en (Jeremias 31:31) He aquí que días vienen oráculo de Yavé en que yo pactaré con la casa de Israel (y con la casa de Judá) una nueva alianza;
no como la alianza que pacté con sus padres, cuando les tomé de la mano para sacarles de Egipto; que ellos rompieron mi alianza, y yo hice estrago en ellos oráculo de Yavé.

Sino que esta será la alianza que yo pacte con la casa de Israel, después de aquellos días oráculo de Yavé : pondré mi Ley en su interior y sobre sus corazones la escribiré, y yo seré su Dios y ellos serán mi pueblo.

Ya no tendrán que adoctrinar más el uno a su prójimo y el otro a su hermano, diciendo: Conoced a Yavé, pues todos ellos me conocerán del más chico al más grande oráculo de Yavé cuando perdone su culpa, y de su pecado no vuelva a acordarme.
Así dice Yavé, el que da el sol para alumbrar el día, y gobierna la luna y las estrellas para alumbrar la noche, el que agita el mar y hace bramar sus olas, cuyo nombre es Yavé Sebaot.

La Iglesia ve en esto un interés de Dios en Israel como “su pueblo” y no como la nación o país llamado ahora Israel (Lucas 22:20)De igual modo, después de cenar, tomó la copa, diciendo: Esta copa es la Nueva Alianza en mi sangre, que es derramada por vosotros. He aquí la Nueva Alianza prometida al pueblo de Israel.

El Israel Histórico

No haremos un detallado documental sobre la historia de Israel (a quien algunas veces la Escritura se refiere como “Efraim”, he aquí otro nombre simbólico), pero si, mencionaremos el hecho de que en un tiempo Israel estaba formado por 12 tribus que eran descendientes de los 12 hijos de Jacob, este grupo de tribus fue conocido como el reino de Israel.

A la muerte de Salomón, su hijo Rejoboam tomó el reinado, pero las diez tribus del norte rechazaron el mandato del nuevo rey, y se independizaron; el reino quedó dividido en dos territorios, Israel (10 tribus) en el norte con su capital Samaria, y Judea (tres tribus, Benjamín, Judas y los Levitas) en el sur con su capital Jerusalen.

El Norte (Israel) fue invadida y conquistada por los Sirios, quienes llevaron a los Israelís como cautivos, y los esparcieron por lo que hoy es Arabia Saudita, Irán, Iraq, Jordania, Egipto y partes de Turquía, a este grupo se le llegó a conocer como las “diez tribus perdidas de Israel”; Judea no corrió mejor suerte que Israel, pues fue invadida por Babilonia y también fueron llevados cautivos cerca del año 586 BC.
Después de años de cautividad, se le permitió a los habitantes de Judea regresar a su tierra, los pocos que regresaron, reconstruyeron el templo y la ciudad de Jerusalen, este grupo es al que hoy en día se le llama Israel.

Israel tiene el gran privilegio de ser la nación que Dios escogió para ser el pueblo del cual nacería el Mesías, Dios lo ha diseñado todo de acuerdo a su santa voluntad y sabiduría; bendito sea Israel por siempre. (Deuteronomio 32:8) Cuando el Altísimo repartió las naciones, cuando distribuyó a los hijos de Adán, fijó las fronteras de los pueblos, según el número de los hijos de Dios; mas la porción de Yavé fue su pueblo, Jacob su parte de heredad.

En tierra desierta le encuentra, en la soledad rugiente de la estepa. Y le envuelve, le sustenta, le cuida, como a la niña de sus ojos.
Como un águila incita a su nidada, revolotea sobre sus polluelos, así el despliega sus alas y te toma, y le lleva sobre su plumaje.

No importa cuanta bendición o carismas se nos haya dado por el Espíritu Santo, si no utilizamos nuestros dones, corazón y nuestro espíritu para el servicio y la gloria de Dios; seremos como vasijas inútiles. El privilegio trae consigo una gran responsabilidad, a como nos lo recuerda el Señor en (Lucas 12:48) “a quien se le dio mucho, se le reclamará mucho; y a quien se confió mucho, se le pedirá más.

Nosotros como Católicos, tenemos el deber y la responsabilidad de ser mejores ciudadanos, padres, hermanos, esposos y seres humanos decentes, mas que cualquier otra persona de cualquier otra religión, ya que hemos sido proveídos con la verdad total y la Iglesia del Dios Vivo; el mundo entero le debe agradecimiento a Israel por el hecho que por medio de ellos, hemos obtenido la Escritura y la sagrada tradición, que nos proveyeron sus antepasados.

Sustituye la Iglesia a Israel?

Puede el amor de un buen padre o madre por uno de sus hijos disminuir el amor por sus otros hijos? No! Lo que si sucede a veces, es que, cuando uno de nuestros hijos se encuentra en problemas o una difícil situación, enfocamos nuestra atención y cuidado en auxiliar a ese hijo hasta que su problema haya sido resuelto. Hace Dios brillar el sol y caer la lluvia, sólo sobre los buenos o los malos? El Señor todo poderoso hace salir el sol para todos sin excepción, y la lluvia cae tanto sobre los que aman a Dios, a como los que lo niegan.

Hemos visto cómo todo el país de Chile, dedicó alrededor de dos meses su atención en rescatar 33 mineros atrapados en una caverna profunda en la tierra; dejó por eso Chile de atender a sus otros millones de ciudadanos? No! Y cuando los mineros fueron gracias a Dios al fin rescatados, se alegraron sólo los familiares de los mineros, o fue todo el país de Chile? O se alegro el mundo entero con ellos? El mundo entero! Nos enseñó el Señor, que cuando él pierde una de sus cien ovejas, deja abandonadas a las otras 99 para salir en busca de la ovejita perdida? Sí! Ese es el amor de Dios, para todas las naciones!

Lo que les quiero decir es que siempre que el pueblo de Israel se ha encontrado en situaciones difíciles y han llorado al Señor, han sido rescatados, así mismo, el Señor atiende a toda persona o pueblo que le llora y pide su ayuda y misericordia en tiempos de dificultad. Dios ama por igual a todos sus hijos, y es imparcial y justo con todos, pues todos somos la obra de su amor y gracia.

(Juan 10:14). Yo soy el buen pastor; y conozco mis ovejas y las mías me conocen a mí,
como me conoce el Padre y yo conozco a mi Padre y doy mi vida por las ovejas.
También tengo otras ovejas, que no son de este redil; también a ésas las tengo que conducir y escucharán mi voz; y habrá un solo rebaño, un solo pastor.

El Señor se identifica primero como el Pastor de Israel, pero, al mismo tiempo nos dice que tiene “otro rebaño” que traerá a juntar con su actual rebaño, y desde entonces existirá un solo rebaño. La Iglesia de Cristo incluye y acepta a Judíos, Gentiles, Griegos, Moros, y todos los grupos étnicos de la tierra que deseen ser seguidores de Cristo el Buen Pastor.

La Iglesia jamas sustituye a Israel como el pueblo de Dios, a como tampoco el hecho de que haya otros santos, sustituyen a la Virgen María como la Bendita entre todas las mujeres, en otra palabras no se trata de quitar a uno y poner a otro, sino de que la Iglesia incluye a todos, aun al “resto” de Israel o sea los Judíos que acepten a Cristo como su Mesías.

(Isaias 10:20) Aquel día no volverán ya el resto de Israel y los bien librados de la casa de Jacob a apoyarse en el que los hiere, sino que se apoyarán con firmeza en Yavé. Un resto volverá, el resto de Jacob, al Dios poderoso.
Que aunque sea tu pueblo, Israel, como la arena del mar, sólo un resto de él volverá. Exterminio decidido, rebosante de justicia.

Mas tarde el apóstol Pablo nos describe la unidad que existe ahora entre todas las naciones de la tierra, en nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
(Efesios 2:11) Así que, recordad cómo en otro tiempo vosotros, los gentiles según la carne, llamados incircuncisos por la que se llama circuncisión por una operación practicada en la carne , estabais a la sazón lejos de Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía de Israel y extraños a las alianzas de la Promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.

Mas ahora, en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, los que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis llegado a estar cerca por la sangre de Cristo.
Porque él es nuestra paz: el que de los dos pueblos (Judíos y Gentiles, de nuevo recuerden que para los Judíos solo existen dos clases de gente en el mundo, los Judíos y todas las otras razas llamadas Gentiles) hizo uno, derribando el muro que los separaba, la enemistad, anulando en su carne la Ley de los mandamientos con sus preceptos, para crear en sí mismo, de los dos, un solo Hombre Nuevo, haciendo la paz, y reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo Cuerpo, por medio de la cruz, dando en sí mismo muerte a la Enemistad.

Vino a anunciar la paz: paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca. Pues por él, unos y otros tenemos libre acceso al Padre en un mismo Espíritu.

Lean también en sus Biblias (Galatas 6:14) y la carta a los Romanos de la cual solamente les mostraré (Romanos 9:6) No es que haya fallado la palabra de Dios. Pues no todos los descendientes de Israel son Israel.
Ni por ser descendientes de Abraham, son todos hijos. Sino que por Isaac llevará tu nombre una descendencia; es decir: no son hijos de Dios los hijos según la carne, sino que los hijos de la promesa se cuentan como descendencia.

En otras palabras, no son los hijos naturales los verdaderos hijos de Dios, sino los hijos de la promesa, podría continuar dándoles prueba tras prueba que el verdadero Israel no es algo físico sino espiritual, pero les dejo eso como tarea.

Que Dios Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo los bendiga.
Que la Virgen María, los santos y los ángeles del cielo rueguen a Dios por nosotros.
Bendita sea la Iglesia de Dios, sus mártires y sus sacerdotes.

Gloria a Dios, Aleluya!
Dios sana, Hosanna!

Before we start , which version of the Bible do you consider the best one to have?

There are several versions that I like, but, in reality each and every version has its strong points and its weak ones; for one thing, the Spanish version of the “ Biblia Latinoamericana” is very watered down, they use the least expressive language that I have ever seen, and many times the translation is very poor. The “Biblia de Jerusalen” is one of the best, but, not necessarily the ultimate version; in English, we have the NRSV, the St. Ignatius version, and the Douay Rheims one, these are three of the best versions in the market.

Maybe we should make a summary of what we have discussed so far in the previous 4 chapters of the Rapture Series; first of all, the Rapture is a protestant dogma that teaches that our Lord Jesus Christ will come on a special occasion, just to take a bunch of evangelicals with Him, without going through any judgment, who will be going directly into heaven, just for believing in the Rapture.

Do Catholics believe the Lord will come again to save His Church? Catholics believe that Jesus will return a second time, as is recorded in the Bible (Matt. Chap.25 and several other places), to judge the living and the dead,, the ones found in the grace of God will be gathered on the right hand of the Saviour and will be taken to heaven with Him; but, the ones found out of the grace of God will be sent somewhere else. We don't believe there will be a special Rapture trip made by the Lord, since the second time he comes, will be to establish the new heaven and the new earth, to end the reign of Satan and to inaugurate the Eternal Kingdom or New Paradise.

We Ought to Live Always Prepared

(Matt. 24:36) But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone. And as in the days of Noe, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark, And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be. Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one shall be taken, and one shall be left. Watch ye therefore, because ye know not what hour your Lord will come. But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open. Wherefore be you also ready, because at what hour you know not the Son of man will come.

Two brothers could be even twins, but, one of them could be a saint and the other not, what identify us as Christians, is not our physical appearance, but, what is in our heart; salvation is something accepted by each person individually, it is a personal responsibility and not a privilege by association; if we have faith, will show it actively loving God and our neighbor; faith is not just a slogan or just to say “I love God, or I believe in the Lord” no, no, no, we must live our faith and conduct ourselves as true disciples of Christ our Lord.

As we see in the previous verse, two men will be in the field but only one will be taken, which means that it doesn't matter how similar two persons may appear to the eye, on the day of the Lord, only one will be spiritually fit; the same thing is said about the two women grinding in the mill.

Nobody else can save you, or get you ready to meet the Lord; only you, by accepting Christ in your heart, mind and soul can guarantee that you'll be among the chosen ones, on the day of the Lord or Final Judgment.

Many people will be busy with the ordinary things of life, but, since the Lord will come suddenly like “a thief in the night”, the ones that didn't take the Christian warning seriously, will not be prepared and ready to meet our Saviour, please get ready now, really repent and go to confession, and live ready, that way, you won't be left behind, after the final judgment is done.

We'll Be Transformed Before Entering Into Heaven

(1Corinthians 15:50) I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Before we can get into heaven, we will be clothed with sanctifying grace, (Please read the article on Grace that appears on the list on your Right hand side), but, like I said before, we must live ready, it is like when a platoon of soldiers board a plane to be dropped from it behind the enemy line; they get ready and put on their parachute even before they board the plane, they checked their equipment and weapons way before hand, that way, they could be dropped from the plane at any moment, and be sure that their parachute will open and land smoothly where they're supposed to land.

To be able to get into heaven we must be transform, we must be clothe with supernatural nature to be able to share the life of God; that supernatural nature is provided to us by the sanctifying grace that we get here on earth, while we're still alive.

Who is Israel?

I think it would be interesting to go back a little bit and find out what is Israel; if we have a good background of the origin of the people of God , it might help us to understand better the roll of the Hebrews in the history of salvation. As you already know, God made a covenant with Abraham, by which He would bless all the nations; then the Lord reiterated (kind of renew) that covenant with Abraham descendants like Isaac and then Jacob; if we read the Scripture, we find that Jacob was a real character, a good manipulator, but, never the less a believer in the one and only God.

(Genesis 32) Tells us the story of Jacob, and how he wrestled one whole night with a man, and then at dawn; the man (who is supposed to be an angel) asked Jacob to let him go, Jacob first asked him for his blessing then, the man told Jacob: “from now on, your name won't be Jacob anymore, it will be Israel, because you have fought with man and God. (again, read the story in your Bible)

From the story we can see that every believer in Christ could be called Israel, since all of us wrestle our whole life between sin, and following the word of God; our struggle is between good and evil. Why do I tell you this story? because maybe Israel is not only the people who are descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but everyone who becomes a Christian, we find several names used in Scripture in a symbolic way, for example: Sodom, Babylon, Jerusalem, Jezebel and Egypt plus some others that escape my mind at this moment.

God has never rejected his people Israel, He even promised them a new covenant, as in (Jeremiah 31:31) "The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

...(31:33) "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.No longer will a man teach his neighbor,or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD.

"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." This is what the LORD says,he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD Almighty is his name.

This according to the Church shows that the Scripture is not so much concerned with Israel as a nation (country) but, Israel as a people. (Luke 22:20)In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. Here's the promised "New Covenant" made by the Lord to his people Israel.

The Historic Israel

We won't get into a detail narration of the history of Israel (also sometimes referred to as “Ephraim”), but, we will mention the fact that, at one time the 12 tribes (descendants of the 12 sons of Jacob) formed the kingdom of Israel,then, when Solomon died, ten of the twelve tribes split with the kingdom, because they disliked and distrust Rehoboam, son of Solomon who was now their king; many historians claim that in reality there was never a united kingdom of Israel; they say that this was mentioned just to boost the pride of the descendants of Jacob.

The kingdom was split into two territories, Israel (ten tribes) on the North with their capital Samaria, and Judah (the tribes of Judah, Benjamin and the Levies) on the south with their capital Jerusalem. Later, Israel (the North) would be invaded by the Syrians, conquered and taken into captivity; the Israelites were scattered all over what is now Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and parts of Turkey, becoming what is called the lost ten tribes of Israel; Judah didn't do any better and were invaded by the Babylonians around 586 BC.

After some time in captivity, Judah had a remnant that returned to their land, they are the ones who rebuilt the temple and the city of Jerusalem, they are the ones whom we now know as Israel. The history of the Jews, is marked by periods of fidelity and infidelity toward God; their story reflects the story of every believer; who is in a constant state of temptation and the desire to please God.

Israel has the great privilege of having been chosen to be the people, from where the Messiah would emerge; God does not improvise, everything has been designed according to his wisdom; blessed be Israel forever. (Deuteronomy 32:8)When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.

For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him;
he guarded him as the apple of his eye,like an eagle that stirs up its nest
and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.

It doesn't matter how much we are blessed or how many charisms we have been given by the Spirit, if we don't utilize our gifts, heart and soul to the service and the glory of God; we would be like a useless vessel. Privilege brings a great responsibility, which is what the Lord told us in: (Luke 12:48) From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

We as Catholic Christians, have the duty and responsibility to be better citizens, parents, brothers, husbands and human beings in general than any other person of a different believe system; we have been entrusted with the whole truth and the Church of the Living God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; the whole world should thank and bless Israel for the fact that through them we have been saved, and thanks to them we could have the sacred Scripture and the holy tradition given to the whole world by their ancestors.

Has The Church Substituted Israel?

Could the love of a good father or mother for one of his/her children diminish the love for his/her other kids? No! Sometimes we might focus our attention and care for one of our children who is going through a trial; but, that doesn't put on hold our love for the others. Does the sun shine for the good and the bad? And does it rain only for the believers or the unbelievers? God makes the sun shine for all, and makes the rain fall on the property and land of the ones who love Him and the ones who don't even believe in Him.

We've seen how the country of Chile dedicated over two months to rescue 33 miners trapped in a hole; did the country of Chile forget all through that time, the rest of its citizens? No! And when the miners were finally rescued, was it celebrated only by their families? Or the whole country of Chile? Or was it celebrated by the whole world? The whole world! Didn't Jesus tell us that, when He loses one of His 100 sheep, he leaves the 99 to go looking for the lost one? Yes!
That's the love of God!

What I'm trying to say is that, everytime the people of Israel has been in trouble and have cried to God for help, they have been rescued by the Lord, the same way He takes care of any person or people who cries to Him and asks for mercy. God loves all his children with the same intensity, and is equally impartial and just to all, since each and everyone of us is the work of his love and grace.

(John 10:14) "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”

First the Lord identified himself as the Shepherd of Israel, but, at the same time tells his listeners that he has “other sheep” that He will bring to form but just one flock. The Church embraces Jews, Gentiles, Greeks and everybody who desires to be a follower of Christ the Good Shepherd.

The Church includes (does not substitute)“a remnant of Israel”, or the Jews who accept Christ as the promised Messiah (Isaiah 10:20) In that day the remnant of Israel, the survivors of the house of Jacob, will no longer rely on him who struck them down but will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel. A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God. Though your people, O Israel, be like the sand by the sea, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous.

Then the apostle Paul describes the oneness or unity that now exist among all the people of the earth, in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:11) Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands of men)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both (Jews and Gentiles) have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Please read also (Galatians 6:14) and all Romans, I'll show you the next verse only as a sample:(Romans 9:6) It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."

In other words, it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. And I could continue giving you proof after proof, that Israel as it is referred in the Bible, doesn't mean the country Israel, but, all the believers in Christ, in other words, the Church that includes every ethnic group and nationality.

El Rapto Parte 4



Contradicen las enseñanzas de Pablo sobre la Segunda Venida, la versión del Señor?

Terminamos el Capítulo 3 de esta serie con el problema (para los dispensacionalistas) de que no puede haber 2 “Segunda Venidas” del Señor, y el hecho que los dispensacionalistas no puede explicar ni el secreto, ni como puede haber dos “Segunda Venidas”; prometí explicar de que Pablo no contradice al Señor cuando nos dice en (1 Tesalonicenses 4:13) de que el Señor vendrá y que seremos llevados por el aire hacia El.

Si leemos el Capítulo 25 de Mateo, encontramos la mejor descripción de lo que pasará el día que Cristo venga a juzgar a vivos y muertos; primero habrá un juzgamiento (juicio) para todos, donde seremos separados en dos grupos, uno será el de los que irán al cielo con el Señor, y el otro de los que serán enviados al lugar del tormento eterno.
Hasta hoy se nos ha dado suficiente explicación, instrucción y tiempo para que decidamos donde queremos pasar la eternidad, se nos ha dado tiempo para escoger el famoso 'camino estrecho' de la salvación, pues nunca se nos ha dicho que el camino al cielo es como un paseo por el parque.

Es cierto que todos hemos sido 'redimidos' y se nos ha dado la oportunidad para la salvación, sin embargo nunca se nos ha dicho de que tenemos el pase al cielo garantizado. ( si crees que estoy equivocado, por favor enviame un comentario)

Pablo está en lo correcto cuando nos dice que seremos llevados como por el aire al encuentro del Señor, pero, ya que él no menciona en este párrafo de que habrá un juzgamiento (juicio), no quiere decir de que no lo habrá, pues nos lo ha hecho saber en otros dos pasajes de la Escritura, a como lo veremos ahora; primero pasemos a: (Hebreos 9:28)... de la misma manera Cristo se sacrificó una sola vez para quitar los pecados de una multitud. La segunda vez se manifestará a todos aquellos que lo esperan como a su salvador, pero ya no será por causa del pecado. (notaron que San Pablo dijo: “La segunda vez”...? o sea, que no hay "tercera y a la vencida").

Pasemos ahora a (2 Timoteo 4:1) Yo te conjuro delante de Dios y de Cristo Jesús, que ha de juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos, y en nombre de su Manifestación y de su Reino: proclama la Palabra de Dios, insiste con ocasión o sin ella, arguye, reprende, exhorta, con paciencia incansable y con afán de enseñar.
Porque llegará el tiempo en que los hombres no soportarán más la sana doctrina; por el contrario, llevados por sus inclinaciones, se procurarán una multitud de maestros
que les halaguen los oídos, y se apartarán de la verdad para escuchar cosas fantasiosas. (Como esos que sólo gustan de ir a 'iglesias' que predican el evangelio de la prosperidad, o ahora que la buena fortuna de muchos se ha ido al sur, el evangelio del positivismo.)

...Tú, en cambio, vigila atentamente, soporta todas las pruebas, realiza tu tarea como predicador del Evangelio, cumple a la perfección tu ministerio.
Yo ya estoy a punto de ser derramado como una libación, y el momento de mi partida se aproxima: he peleado hasta el fin el buen combate, concluí mi carrera, conservé la fe.
Y ya está preparada para mí la corona de justicia, que el Señor, como justo Juez, me dará en ese Día, y no solamente a mí, sino a todos los que hayan aguardado con amor su Manifestación.

Cristo llegará la segunda vez, no a entregarse una vez más por nuestros pecados, ni a predicar su doctrina, la segunda vez llegará como el justo juez que llega a hacer justicia por medio de su sentencia santa y perfecta; vemos cómo San Pablo nos lo hace saber cuando nos dice “que Cristo ha de juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos”;
mas tarde nos dice que él, es uno mas de los que serán juzgados, o sea que no dice en ningún momento de que será 'raptado al cielo' así no mas, no señor! antes tiene que haber un juicio final ; ven lo que estoy diciéndoles? Mas claro no canta un gallo, no hay tal 'rapto' mágico así, por así.

La Segunda Venida

Ya hemos dicho que Cristo regresará una vez más, sólo que esta vez, viene a juntar (reunir) a su iglesia a todos sus fieles para llevarlos con El al Paraíso. Leemos en (Mateo 24:29): Después de esos días de angustia ( se fijaron? dijo días de angustia o "tribulación, contrario a los que creen en el "rapto", segun ellos, el Señor no permitirá que sufran una tribulación), el sol se oscurecerá, la luna perderá su brillo, caerán las estrellas del cielo y se bambolearán los mecanismos del universo.
Entonces aparecerá en el cielo la señal del Hijo del Hombre. Mientras todas las razas de la tierra se golpearán el pecho, verán al Hijo del Hombre viniendo sobre las nubes del cielo con el poder divino y la plenitud de la gloria.

Enviará a sus ángeles, que tocarán la trompeta y reunirán a los elegidos de los cuatro puntos cardinales, de un extremo al otro del mundo.
Aprendan esta lección de la higuera: Cuando están ya tiernas sus ramas y empiezan a brotar las hojas, ustedes saben que se acerca el verano.
Asimismo, cuando ustedes noten todas estas cosas que les he dicho, sepan que el tiempo ya está cerca, a las puertas. En verdad les digo: no pasará esta generación, hasta que sucedan todas estas cosas. Pasarán el cielo y la tierra, pero mis palabras no pasarán.

El Juicio Final

Se nos dice que el Señor vendrá en toda gloria con muchos ángeles, al sonido de la trompeta, de nuevo no llegará secretamente sino con todo fulgor, y será visto por todas las razas de la tierra; sin embargo traigamos aquí "una pieza más del rompecabeza" ( a como le gusta decir a Hal Lindsey)...

(Mateo 25:31) “Cuando el Hijo del Hombre venga en su gloria rodeado de todos sus ángeles, se sentará en el trono de gloria, que es suyo. Todas las naciones--- (dice: 'todas las naciones', en ningun momento se nos dice: 'todas las naciones, menos Israel', lo cual destruye el cuento "raptista" de dos planes de Dios, uno para Israel, y el otro para la Iglesia)--- serán llevadas a su presencia, y separará a unos de otros, al igual que el pastor separa las ovejas de los chivos.
Entonces el Rey dirá a los que están a su derecha: «Vengan, benditos de mi Padre, y tomen posesión del reino que ha sido preparado para ustedes desde el principio del mundo.
Porque tuve hambre y ustedes me dieron de comer; tuve sed y ustedes me dieron de beber. Fui forastero y ustedes me recibieron en su casa. Anduve sin ropas y me vistieron. Estuve enfermo y fueron a visitarme. Estuve en la cárcel y me fueron a ver.»

Entonces los justos dirán: «Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento y te dimos de comer, o sediento y te dimos de beber?
¿Cuándo te vimos forastero y te recibimos, o sin ropa y te vestimos?
¿Cuándo te vimos enfermo o en la cárcel y fuimos a verte?
El Rey responderá: «En verdad les digo que, cuando lo hicieron con alguno de los más pequeños de estos mis hermanos, me lo hicieron a mí.»


Pablo está en lo correcto

Pablo está correcto cuando nos dice en (1 Tesalonicenses 4) que “iremos por el aire a reunirnos con el Señor”, porqué? Porque los ángeles han sido enviados a reunir (juntar) a toda la gente, buenos y malos para ser juzgados, los buenos o sea los que están “salvos” serán llevados por el Señor al cielo, y los que sean encontrados culpables ( los malos, malinches, malandrines), serán enviados al lugar del tormento eterno. Por favor lean en su Biblia todos los pasajes anteriores una y otra vez, para que nunca más sean engañados por los mercaderes de 'cuentos de hadas', a como son los que promueven un falso 'rapto de la iglesia'.

Nos salvamos por medio de hacer buenas obras?

Mi primo protestante me dice, que la Iglesia enseña una falsa doctrina, al decirnos que haciendo buenas obras seremos salvados. Qué opinás vos?

Tu primo está muy errado, la Iglesia Católica nunca jamas ha eseñado tal cosa; lo que sí enseña la Iglesia, es que nos debemos revestir de Cristo, quien siempre hizo buenas obras para gloria del Padre: (Galatas 3:27)... ya que todos ustedes, que fueron bautizados en Cristo, han sido revestidos de Cristo. Por lo tanto, ya no hay judío ni pagano, esclavo ni hombre libre, varón ni mujer, porque todos ustedes no son más que uno en Cristo Jesús. Y si ustedes pertenecen a Cristo, entonces son descendientes de Abraham, herederos en virtud de la promesa.

Debemos de siempre mantener la actitud de un hijo/hija de Dios, y porque tenemos fe, lo manifestamos por medio de hacer buenas obras y obrando el bien a como nos lo recomienda (Santiago 2:5-20) (por favor lean el libro de Santiago en su Biblia.) De nuevo repito lo que ya hemos dicho en otro artículo de este blog, que todos hemos sido 'redimidos' de una vez por todas por Cristo el Señor, pero, nuestra 'salvación' (que no es lo mismo que 'redención') es algo que debemos de aceptar y de trabajar en obtenerla; no podemos pensar como los protestantes que dicen: "una vez salvo, siempre estaremos salvo (parece que Calvino vive).

Eso sería una injusticia, no es bíblico ni es Cristiano. Cristo ha pagado el precio (nos ha 'redimido') por nuestra salvación, pero, en ningún lugar se nos dice que estamos automáticamente salvos; debemos de aceptar la salvación y trabajar por estar siempre en gracia con Dios.

Un poco más sobre los 'Dispensacionalistas'

Cuál creés vos, es el secreto del éxito de los videos, cintas y libros de Tim LaHaye y Hal Lindsey?

Ambos utilizan un método muy astuto de relacionar eventos actuales con pasajes de la Biblia, lo cual logran utilizando una buena concordancia (libro similar a un diccionario, que te ayuda a localizar cualquier pasaje en las Escrituras); le agregan a sus obras un poco de ciencia ficción y hacen mención de lugares y personas reales, lo cual da un aire de autenticidad y realismo a sus historietas.

Le agregan ademas el método de meterle el miedo a la gente, más les proponen una solución muy fácil a todos sus problemas, a como lo es el 'dogma protestante del rapto'; y para cerrar con broche de oro, agregan una buena dosis de rabioso anti-Catolicísmo, y Eureka! Has creado un libro de éxito de venta de gran escala.

Por cierto que hay un tipo que se copió del método Lindsey/LaHaye y se ha convertido en un gran millonario escribiendo novelas anti-Católicas, su nombre es: Dan Brown.

Hal Lindsey dice (y por cierto que siempre está cambiando sus predicciones) en uno de sus libros, que de acuerdo a sus cálculos, el 'juicio final' está por darse en cualquier momento; y el único medio de salvarnos del periodo de tribulación y de irnos al cielo es el 'rapto'.
De acuerdo a Lindsey la única esperanza para los Cristianos, es la 'esperanza bendita' prometida en (Tito 2:13) la cual Lindsey interpreta ser el 'rapto'. (típico metodo Protestante, usar una parte de un versículo fuera de contexto, e interpretarlo a tu gusto y antojo)

Leamos ese pasaje y veamos si es cierto. (Tito 2:11) Que no roben a sus patrones, sino que se muestren dignos de toda confianza; así atraerán elogios sobre la doctrina de Dios, nuestro Salvador. Porque la generosidad del Dios Salvador acaba de manifestarse a todos los hombres;
nos enseña a rechazar la vida sin Dios y las codicias mundanas, y a vivir en el mundo presente como seres responsables, justos y que sirven a Dios. Ahora nos queda aguardar la bendita esperanza, la manifestación gloriosa de nuestro gran Dios y Salvador, Cristo Jesús, que se entregó por nosotros para rescatarnos de todo pecado y purificar a un pueblo que fuese suyo, dedicado a toda obra buena.

Es típico de Hal Lindsey la práctica de alinear los pasajes de las Escrituras sin prestar mucha atención al contexto histórico; si leemos con cuidado la carta de Tito, la frase “bendita esperanza”, aun si la aislamos del resto del versículo, no significa 'el rapto'; pero claro, eso no previene que Lindsey sí la traduzca como significando 'el rapto'; la 'bendita esperanza' del los Cristianos es Nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo y nada más.

La próxima vez que veas un carro con una calcomanía que dice “bendita esperanza” ya sabés ahora que es una frase clave, que para los seguidores de Darby significa 'el rapto'. Es realmente asombroso que los dispensacionalistas crean a pies juntillas que serán trasladados al cielo en cualquier momento con todo y chancletas, pero no aceptan el dogma Católico de la Asunción de la Virgen María; si el Señor se llevó al cielo con El a Enoc (Génesis 5:24), Elias (2Reyes 2:11), Moisés (Mateo 17:3) y el 'buen ladrón' (Lucas 23:43), no veo cual sea el motivo de excluir a la persona más cercana al Señor, a como lo es la Santa Virgen María, que llevó en su vientre a Dios mismo en la persona de Jesús de Nazareth.

Recuerden que aun el mismo San Pablo nos dijo hace poco en (2 Timoteo 4:1) que él también será juzgado en 'el día del Señor'; claro el apóstol es muy modesto y humilde, jamas se considera privilegiado (a como los que creen que serán raptados), pero estoy seguro que él ya está en la gloria con su Señor y nuestro Dios. Espero que los 'hermanos' estudien la Biblia sin la venda de la interpretación subjetiva de su pastor, y lleguen a conocer la verdad.

En el próximo capítulo hablaremos de Israel y la Iglesia y con eso pienso terminar nuestro artículo el cual espero les ha ayudado a sentirse más Católicos y seguros de su fe.

Does Paul contradict the teachings of Christ, on the Second Coming?

We left “Chapter 3” with the problem (for the dispensationalists) of two “second comings” of the Lord, and the fact that the dispensationalists can't explain, neither the “secrecy” nor how there could be two “second comings”; I promised to
expand on the fact that St. Paul does not contradict the Lord when he tells us in (1Thessalonians 4: 13) that, the Lord will come and, we will be caught up in the air to meet Him.

If we go to Matthew Chapter 25, we have the best description of what will happen when Jesus comes to judge the living and the dead; first there will be a judgment, and then a separation of the ones that made it and the ones that will be sent to damnation; we have been given plenty of instruction, explanation and time, to make up our minds, to get ready and to choose the right way, that famous narrow road to life.

Never we were told that, getting to heaven was going to be a piece of cake; it is true that we have been all redeemed and given the opportunity for salvation, but never we have been told that our passage into paradise is guaranteed. (if you think so, please send me a comment and proof.)

Paul is right when he says that, we will be caught up into the air to meet the Lord, but, just because he does not mention a judgment, doesn't mean that it won't be one, no, because he has already told us about it before in:

(Hebrew 9:28) so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time (did Paul just said that the Lord will come 'a second time' or did he say 'a third time?), not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Let's go now to (2Timothy 4:1) In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.

Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Sounds like the ones who like to hear only the Gospel of prosperity, or now that the good fortune of many has changed, they like to hear only the Gospel of positivism.

But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Christ will come a second time, not to suffer again for us, neither to preach the Gospel anymore, this time He comes as the just Judge to dictate his holy and perfect sentence to humanity; St. Paul makes sure we understand that point, he even tells us that he himself will be judge by the Lord at that time (on the day of the Lord), in other words, he doesn't say that he will be 'raptured' just like that into heaven, no, first the judgment and then we will know where will end up spending the eternity. Can he be any clearer than this? I don't think so.

The Second Coming

Christ returns not as the first time, this time is to gather his church, his faithful followers, to take them with him into paradise. We can read in (Matthew 24:29) "Immediately after the distress of (did you hear that? There will be a distressful period.
Could that be the tribulation?) those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

'"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.

Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Judgment Day

We see here that the Lord comes in glory with many angels, at the sound of the trumpet, no secrecy here, again we are told that the whole world will see Him but let's bring in another piece of the puzzle (as Hal Lindsey likes to say) (Matthew 25:31) "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.

All the nations will be gathered before him (this includes the nation of Israel too, I don't see any exception to this clause, do you? which means there is no such thing like to different plans of God, one for Israel and another one for the church), and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' (if you want the rest of the story, please read your Bible)

Paul is Right

Paul is right, we will be caught up in the air, why? Because the angels have gone to gather all the people, good ones and bad ones, then and only then, everybody will be judged and, the ones that are “saved” will be taken by the Lord. Please read all the previous passages again and again, so you'll never be fooled again by no merchant of fairy tales, like the ones selling books that offer a false 'rapture'.

Are We Saved By Works?

My protestant cousin tells me that the Catholic Church teachings, that we are saved by good deeds, is a false doctrine. What do you say?

That is absolutely wrong, the Catholic Church never, never ever, has taught such a thing; what the Catholic Church teaches is, that we must clothe ourselves in Christ, who always performed good works for the glory of the Father; (Galatians 3:27) ...for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

In other words, we must always have the attitude of a son/daughter of God, because if we have faith, we must show it with good deeds, as St. James tells us in (James 2: 5-20) (Please read the book of James in your Bibles)

Again, as I've already told you in another article of this blog, we have been “redeemed” by Christ once for all, but, our “Salvation” is something that we have to accept and work on it, do not think like some protestant groups that teach: Once saved always saved (John Calvin is alive or is he?). That would be an injustice, it is not biblical and it is not Christian. Christ has paid the price for our salvation, but, nowhere is said that we are automatically saved; we must accept our salvation and work on staying in grace.


More on the Dispensationalists

What do you think is the secret of success of Tim LaHaye and Hal Lindsey's books?

They both used a very shrewd method, by relating current events with passages of Scripture, they add some science fiction and mention real people and places that give their writings some air of truthfulness; they mix fear mongering and 'provide' an easy solution to all our big problems, the 'rapture', then you add a good dossis of rabid anti-Catholicism and you get a successful formula for writing best seller books.

As a matter of fact, there is a guy who copied the 'LaHaye/Lindsey' method and became a very successful writer of anti-Catholic novels, his name is Dan Brown.

Hal Lindsey says (and by the way, he has been changing his predictions) in one of his books that according to his calculations 'doomsday' is about to happen, and that the means of salvation from the great tribulation is the 'ultimate trip', the Rapture. According to Lindsey the only real hope for the Christian, is the 'blessed hope' promised in (Titus 2:13) which Lindsey understands it to be the 'rapture'.

Let's read that passage and see if that is so.(Titus 2:11) For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

It is a typical Lindsey's practice to align passages of Scripture without much attention paid to the historical context; if you read the letter to Titus, the phrase 'blessed hope' even isolated from the rest of the text, doesn't mean 'rapture'; but, that does not prevent Lindsey from translating 'blessed hope' as equal to 'rapture'; the blessed hope of the Christians is our Lord Jesus himself, and that's it.

The next time you see a vehicle with a bumper sticker that says; “Blessed Hope”, now you know that, it is a code word that for the evangelicals means “Rapture”.

It is amazing that the dispensationalists believe they will be taken into heaven even with their sneakers on, but, they do not accept the Catholic dogma of the Assumption of holy Virgin Mary; if the Lord took into heaven with Him Enoch (Genesis 5:24), Elijah (2 Kings 2:11), Moses (Matt. 17:3) and the 'good thieve' (Luke 23:43). I don't see why the closest person to our Lord and the one who carried Him in her womb, can't be caught up into paradise with Him.

Remember that even the apostle Paul tells us in (2 Timothy 4:1) that he will be judge on the 'day of the Lord' and hope to be taken into heaven with Jesus; but of course, the apostle is a humble and modest Christian, who does not consider himself a privilege person (like the dispensationalists); but, I'm sure he is already in heaven with his Master and our God and Savior.

I hope the 'brothers' study the Scripture, without the blindfold of the subjective interpretation of their pastor, and maybe then, they'll will discover the truth.
